6. FF8 and FF13-2 are my favorite final fantasy. I dont know why people hated this, I guess its cuz they expected something differnt. As for me I didnt expect nothing and I enjoyed it thoroughly completely and justly.

People criticized the linearity of FFXIII way too harshly, the characters were fugitives so of course they could not hang back and slowly explore different locations in the game and as a reaction(/punishment?) the developers delivered the most frustrating story progression system in any Final Fantasy game ever with FFXIII-2. Come on, searching for invisible artifact on every inch of every playable area while jumping back and forth between time and space while being interrupted by a random fight every ten seconds was a step up for you? Really? Besides that the two main (and only controllable) human characters are fine on their own but having to fill up the third slot of your party with one of many monsters you'll have no emotional connection with felt weird to me.

   People are nuts, FFXIII is way better than people gave it credit for and FFXIII-2 way and way worse.

8. this is legitimately a really great game, who knew…. personally i would rate it higher than an 8.0, imo it's as good as it could possibly be whilst reusing the assets from ff13.

   they did a great job, good story, characters, a much better villian, more open environments with branching paths and lots of side quests, and far more decision making in leveling up and customising and developing your party….

   all that on top of ff13's already fast and solid battle system and it's nothing but a win imo….

10. I HATED the battle system in FF12, only because every FF game I played had the turn taking battle system etc. I liked FFX-2 battle system and I loved the 13's system as it reminded me of x2 however with 12, I just couldn't get into it

14. i love the fast pace strategy in this game. although ur character kinda get to one shot most enemy late game which is a meh.. love that there is no mana so i can cast magic all the time XD. if only lightning return doesnt have the clock timer. i hate it since im rushing to do quest and there is not much time to explore the world

17. The only FF games that are really good is 1-10…..I took 12 back the next day, I made myself beat 13(I really didn't think it was that bad) I have had 13-2 sitting here for years, and I just today decided to play it…I keep going back to the REAL FF games.

18. XIII-2 was one of the best JRPG I have played for a very long time. Til this day it is the only game that I have completed all the achievements for 1000 gamerscore on xbox live (not a big gamer anymore but back in the day I probably played and finished most of JRPGs on xbox360, ps2, and ps1). The ending was my only complain and Lightning returns never really explained the ending of XIII-2, but overall this is one of the very best JRPGs in recent memory.

19. this is a lot better than the original. But the original was terrible. id give this 7/10.the music is terrible. The story is ok .the monster battle system ig good. 12 is still the last great ff. 15 looks promising tho

20. XIII was my first Final Fantasy and I absolutely love it, mainly because of the extremely fun and fast paced combat system. Most negative criticism is based solely on nostalgia and isn't taking someone like myself into consideration. Not saying VII or any of the older ones are bad, but gameplay-wise they are no different than the thousands of other RPG's out there.

21. XIII-2 and Lightning Returns shouldn't have been launched. Both awful games.

    XIII was good (8.5/10) and that's it.

    personally,13-2 is the best in the trilogy cuz you can explore tons of places and leap through time doing lots of side quests. the battle system is a huge improvement too. not to mention its phenomenal soundtracks which were one of the best ive ever heard in any video games that ive played

23. FF XIII franchise (i take it as a seperate franchise from the FF series) is a total disgrace of trash, just a trend following excuse of a game…all thanks due to its predecesor FFX which too was just a trernd following video game, linear and dull

26. OMG this review is so bias, the story was even more confusing than the original, fewer characters and specially that god-awful music, which I always had to turn down. A shame, since FF was known for its great soundtrack 1-X

29. So basically the "game" still sucks shit, given that you aren't even really playing in battles, because even with the only character you control, you auto-battle fo rthe majority. I think you meant -8/10.

31. FF 13 was only good for like 3 out of 10+ chapters but this game is a masterpiece in Jmodern RPG standards. Great story, great gameplay, everything is great in FF 13-2…
    10/10 would play again after spending 50+ hours on it. 😉

32. 13 was… Okay, I hated this one but had to slug through it so I could play Lightning returns, I loved that game.
