  1. How about taking your lazy asses outside and fucking walk? What a stupid fucking concept bahahahhaha my god this generation sucks dick full time, 7 days a week

  2. its $269 at cheapest, and god is that allot. This is nowhere a budget option as this literally costs half htc vive. BUT, it would be fun to own one a pair.

  3. I'm curious how well these will work with new Inside-Out tracking on headsets such as the COSMOS / QUEST / WMR / RIFT "S" I'm very much looking forward to getting a pair, but maybe after I get a WI-GIG for my RIFT (if they EVER release it!) I may have to stick with room sensors if these turn out to be the bomb. I wonder if I could still use a I-O headset and just have a single sensor near the floor to handle the shoes. Actually, I don't recall seeing anything out there that talks about mixed sensor mode. Off to google that !

  4. I think Cybershoes is going to be the most popular choice among treadmills and other devices trying to solve this problem. Fairly inexpensive and not much hardware so it has the potential to become more affordable. It's easy to move, even put in your car. You can buy their extras like the chair and cable stand or use your own. It doesn't require you to stand but is still more physical than a regular controller. Easy to get used to and learn. Turns your body to reduce motion sickness. It also just seems to work like it's supposed to.

  5. the idea of the shoes is good but you are really tethered to the swivel chair at all times to make 360 movement work, i don't think the shoes would work with a average couch or chair, so the swivel chair is also need on top of the shoes, could make this a bit pricey for some.

  6. Another useless vr accessory gimmick that makes you look 100x more stupid that no one will buy. Don't get me wrong I'm looking forward to buy vr headset but not sometihng this stupid.

  7. For those asking how do you strafe. I was thinking about this earlier. And If the aim is to give us a semi natural way to walk in game, people don't really strafe in real life. Think about it? when was the last time you watched a army movie or something and saw some dude circle strafing lol. It would look weird as shit.
In most cases if i was trying to avoid something while shooting at it I would turn and move in that direction while looking at my target and shooting.
Strafing was mostly invented by FPS games like doom and quake because in 2d games your gun is locked to your gaze and direction of movement. Without strafing you would have no maneuverability.
Now of course videos games like let's say raw data, you are getting shot at and are required to step out of the way from time to time. I wonder if simply turning slightly and running out of the way while keeping your gaze and aim faced toward the opponent would work..

  8. Did not believe in them first, but I've changed my mind. Could be really cool! Hope they will find a way to crouch, though.

  9. I ran across Cybershoes while at TGS, and was also very skeptical until I got to try them myself. It feels more natural than you'd believe just watching the videos. You can't strafe, which is a bit of a drawback, but you mostly forget about that once you're immersed in gameplay. Running around Skyrim was an absolute blast. Can't wait to play all the other open-world VR games once the Kickstarter units ship.

  10. Problem is, this doesn't actually mimic walking. Your knee joint starts in a 90 degree angle and flexes inward from there. Real walking starts fairly straight legged and flexes to usually about 75 degrees tops.

Physiologically, this means the cybershoe movement places far more stress on the knee joint and the hamstrings than real walking, while barely involving the calf muscles, keeping the quadriceps in a permanently lengthened position, and since you're sitting down – the glutes won't be activated at all.

The cybershoe movement is a recipe for muscle imbalances and – sooner or later – injury. Our bodies are not evolved for this kind of movement.

You could mitigate this by designing an exercise routine to counteract the muscle imbalances – this is what many cyclists do, for instance. But cycling is a much more natural movement in the first place, so it's a tough sell for me.

  11. are those things tracked or do they just assume you are walking right at the thing your head is pointing?

  12. Cybershoes.
What a cyber cyberterm for cyberspace cyberequipment.
    Totally cyber.

    PS: Cyber,cyber,cyber,cyber,cyber,cyber,cyber,cyber,cyber,cyber,cyber,cyber,cyber,cyber,cyber,cyber,cyber,cyber,cyber,cyber,cyber,cyber,cyber,cyber,cyber,cyber;

  13. You know what those really look like adult Heelys remember the roller skate with the wheels in the back pretty much that's what it looks like. Not very smart sitting down you can do this. Why did the guy not just make roller skates like the old type ones and then you can stand up and then do it that way instead of sitting down
