  1. The game is PURE SHIT! The game meets the baseline level of quality we might expect from a big-budgeted joint, yet it remains a tiresome, empty experience.

  2. Bad episode . Don't excuse yourself, own your review. And thank you for the spoilers…

I like beyond because it's good and funny, but these episode was all about excuses, which I can understand, but it is not the place to do it, at least for me.

  3. Holy fuck! I'd tell everyone to drink every time someone says like but they would be dead in 10 minutes! Is this a joke to see who says like more in the podcast?? Or are you subliminal messaging youtubers to like these videos?? Please, seriously… no one like this comment cause I might puke. I had my fill for the next few years

  4. O my God – Lucy O Brien, so damn agenda and politically driven. Furthermore, im 100% sure you were lining up Days Gone long ago to trash on, regardless of how good or bad it was going to turn out. Bend is a studio of 130 people, it is their first IP on a mainline console since Siphon Filter AND it is a new IP. OF COURSE there were going to be some teething issues… regardless Days Gone is sure as hell is not a bad, nor is it average. It is a Good game, and nothing about the game offends. Bend deserves praise for this first attempt. Once again, it isn't perfect, but Days Gone sure as fuck doesnt do anything so poorly for it to offend. It borrows certain mechanics from recent games. So freaking what. It combines familiar mechanics, and does a solid job. WORST. GAME. EVER. /s

Just because you get paid to review games, doesn't make you a professional. Nor does it make your opinion more relevant.

But It's painful watching someone give an opinion on a game when it is clear and obvious they are driven by SJW values. Seriously, these people arent real gamers. I saw a recent tweet of hers: "Today im going to have sex with a woman" well wow, don't really have many words for a stupid comment like that, but well fucking done, you relevant SJW you. Im sticking to HappyConsoleGamer for impressions on games, at least he is a real gamer unlike these twats at IGN. People like this don't enjoy games, they push their ideals and political views on games, There is just nothing in this impression i really agree with.. it's like O Brien is playing a totally different game to me.The story is sure as fuck not "bloated and directionless". Honestly, the delivery might not be 100% the best ever, but the story itself is interesting, it CERTAINLY isnt garbage like some would want you to think. I'm seriously questioning whether you actually got past 10 hours on this game. O, and that cringey new producer with the glasses is so bloody annoying, i don't ever want to see her again.

  5. Lucy on the world of Days Gone “very drab” …. gives shadow of the tomb raider a 9. And Jon sounds like he really likes Days Gone (no one puts 60+ hours into a game that is playing for fun) but for some reason he feels like having a different opinion than Lucy would offend her? You don’t have to defend her agenda driven review. If Lucy wasn’t on this show, the conversation about Days Gone would have been positive. Every week she puts such a negative vibe on every conversation… what a downer. Please take her off Beyond!!!

  6. Joel and Nathan Drake, link and Mario are all straight white males but no one says shit about them. A game isn’t good or bad based on this stuff. I’m a straight white male but playing as Cerci Lannister in Skyrim right now and Gone Home was amazing. Cuz it was a good story, not cuz it was about a lesbian.

  7. Kudos to IGN for standing by the review. It says great things that management respects their editorial staff opinions even if it's not a popular one. Since the vince ingenito incident it shows that the staff has earned respect as a powerful voice. I do not agree with all the reviews but it's a good thing, the Ign team is very supportive and has each other's back. great job Lucy. Keep it up.

  8. Ask Jon Ryan why race and sex got brought into this, he's on the damn show. "While I’ll admit that I initially rolled my eyes at yet another Gruff White Male Protagonist™ in a grim world – especially one with such a Gruff White Male Protagonist™-ey name as Deacon St. John – I ended up getting far more invested than I’d initially expected. " – Jon Ryan.

  9. It sounds like you guys haven't even played this game ….there are several Hordes that you can take on within the 2 hours. And didn't you guys give RDR2 a 10??? the most unnecessarily long game ever and the most tediously slow fetch quests. And RDR2 had far more repetitive dialogue. Also IGN gave AC Odyssey a 9.2 …which is 10x more repetitive than RDR2 and Days Gone combined …and again way too long. Also didn't Lucy give Shadow of the Tomb Raider a 9 …hide in bushes stab kill, hide in bushes stab kill. Your reviews are pathetic ….All your complaints of days gone were far worse in all those other games you guys did nothing but praise ….IGN has gone to shit. I've never heard a more negative Beyond …officially unsubscribing

  10. Seems like the open world zombie genre is a tough game to tackle. The only game that was received well was Undead Nightmare. Any other game that tried (Dead Island, Dead Rising, Dying Light, State of Decay) have got middling reviews. All are very fun and good games in their own right, but just not liked by the game's media critics. My guess is that these reviewers don't want to spend too much time playing them. Undead Nightmare is a 6-10 our experience. Last of Us and RE2 got very good reviews, but they are linear games that can be beat in a few days. If you know the route in RE2, it can be beat in less than an hour. Personally I'm glad these games exist as I always wanted to play an open world GTA style zombie game. As long as the gaming public enjoy it, that's all that matters. Dying Light in particular is enjoyed by the public, but sits in the low 70's on metacritc. There's definitely a disconnect with the gaming media compared to the public. Maybe they just play too many games.

  11. While I don't completely agree with Lucy's score for days gone. I would raise it by a bit, I do respect her opinions about that game. Many of the things she criticizes are actual problems with with the game but personally I don't think they impact the game that much. It is a really fun and enjoyable game but that doesn't make it great. I like it a lot and will keep playing it but no it isn't something I would recommend to everyone. Keep doing what you all are doing!

  12. Totally disagree. I love this game. I feel like it's better than horizon zero dawn in terms of Open world. Horizon was a good game but it had its repetitive open world tropes. So the way you guys say how it repeats alot of the same stuff in missions etc is pretty invalid. I'm all for opinions but this sounds ridiculous how you guys pick on the game.

  13. Beyond team: I haven't played Days Gone, however I really do feel like you guys went IN on your criticism of the game, and took it to quite extreme nitpicking, and it was unnecessary. There's a good chance the Sony Bend team, some of them at least, are gonna watch this to see what you thought of the game, and if I were them, I would find your critique here quite unprofessional, considering you're all part of the same industry. I'm not AT ALL saying you should tip toe around your issues just because you don't wanna offend them, of course not, however considering you gave this game a 6.5, which by your own admission is not a BAD game, you spend so long just going over tiny details that annoyed you, and it became a kind of "OMG I HATED THAT TOO" talk. Maybe you should have had someone on the show today who really liked the game as well, just to balance things out, as all 4 of you, despite all agreeing that the game isn't BAD, really kinda put it through the ringer on this episode and it seemed unfair. Again, I haven't played it, and may not ever, but I'm speaking as somebody who just found this whole thing uncomfortable when thinking about the hundreds of people that worked on the game. They didn't deserve THIS MUCH of a deep dive into everything wrong with their game from the likes of IGN.

  14. Basically: Lucy shouldn't be working for IGN, she clearly isn't at the same level as the other people there and she obviously just doesnt get games. It's not the first time she fucks up.

  15. The base PSVR unit doesn't come with the camera or motion controllers. Sure Gamestop should have told you that, but what they sold you was not defective.

  16. Not sure if I want to watch this. Are they going to do there usual we'll defend our reviewers horrible review out of solidarity instead of actually having there own opinions and disagree. I remember when they did that with Ryan and his crap review of Alien Isolation. They pulled in 3 idiots (2 of them hadn't played it!) just to bash the game and defend Ryan. Embarrassing. Lucy's review is horrible. I'm 20 hours in and the game is very good.
