1. IGN is a joke now.

2. UPDATE: The game is back online, all civs free, all DLC free. Fans brought it back. This is a great RTS, a great AoE that sadly was tied up with the dreaded games for windows live, the art style and free to play model also kept series fans away, which was unfortunate because it was very deep and fun, and the restrictions were very lax.

   Sad to see this failed, but amazing that it's back. The game is worth a second look, and i want to review the server myself since little to no attention goes to games like these, brought back by fans, for fans! Cheers!

3. Is this a balanced game like SC2? Where you can't buy extra stuff to beat your opponents?

5. Why do you need a good story line in an strategy game, an AOE game at that. Thats like saying CIV has a bad story line, makes no sense.

7. I miss this game… it should have been ported to mobile devices but no… they made a total pile of shit for mobile. I loved the art style they used. Colorful and artistic graphics just look better to me than the realistic gritty graphics of the other versions.

   For the love of god someone release something as good as age of mythology… pls

12. AOE 2 and AOM are both being released on steam, please let this game die and support the original, legitimate RTS games :). 

13. neither MMO's or RPG's are known for good story telling? lol…. some of the games in these genres are ONLY good at making stories. I think that was one of the few things WoW did well. 

14. Dude could you not record more than five minutes of game footage? Or is the entire game elephants?

34. Good game. You can unlock the whole game without ever paying for any content. Make sure you get to level 40, then play alliance wars, and then you can earn Empire points to buy content. But I did start by buying the Premium Greeks and Skirmish pack for $15. Then, once at level 40, I earned enough empire points in 5 months to get 3 additional civilizations, worth $30, for FREE! Too bad, not a lot of people play. Get the word out, its a fun and challenging game.

35. Age of Mythology is still my favorite, I wish someone had made an AOM2 mod for AOEIII.

40. so AoE should take a leaf out of the notebook of many Warcraft 3 custom maps, as there were many that focused on modern warfare. But unfortunately it appears there are no more AoE games, nearly all the good rts games are gone, but for some reason this seems to be a year for rts gamers to look forward to

42. 1 and 2 war? Humans have been battling since our evolution, so they'd have to go all the way back to the birth of humans as a race, and that isn't fun

43. We don't want age of empires like a flash facebook game. We want age of empires 4 focus on 1° and 2° war !

44. They made Empire points earnable so the game is truly free-to-play. It might be slow to earn them but you can get everything in the game without paying a penny.
