  1. No, no no!
The X Compact is NOT meant to be a successor to the Z5 Compact!
The X range is slightly less "high end" than the Z. (Look at the Xperia X and XA)

The X compact is meant to be a budget compact phone with good specs, and is not meant to be a variant of the Z5 Compact!

    Jesus.

  2. I'm just gonna say, Sony made all the right choices with this phone. The Z5 Compact was pretty cool when it came out, but after using the X Compact, it's definitely the better device. My biggest complaint with the Z5 is the 810. It just runs too hot, and I think that's why the battery seems to drain so much faster than the X Compact. While I do prefer the slightly smaller size of the Z5 Compact, the X is still very acceptable. I think the 650 is a much better fit, as it runs cool (always) and it's faster in my opinion (although the extra gig of ram probably helps). If you're deciding between the X and the Z5, I'd recommend the X

  3. you failed to mention something very important. this phone does NOT play all videos. many videos have no audio or don't play at all. this compared to iphones that play every single video. this seems to be a copyright issue with sony phones because the htc phones do play all music videos whereas sony does not which is a terrible flaw.

  4. Reading comments and the average consumer is a moron. You really think anything more than 720p is needed on a sub 4" phone? ? I have a Galaxy S6 with a quad HD display which kills the battery and is unnoticeably better than other devices with a 720p display. People are so caught up on the best processor and display when on a phone it's plain unnecessary.

  5. The X Compact comes with a 100 euro cashback (nov-16). For 350 euro it's a great compact phone with a fast Snapdragon 650 processor and a 720p screen with 320 ppi that looks very good. No need to put a fullHD screen in this small phone, just like Iphone never does. You get a big 2700 mAh battery that lasts at least a full day.

32gb internal storage plus microSD, 3gb RAM. Best of all, you get the same high-end camera as in the Xperia XZ which costs twice as much.

Yes 450 euro was too much for this phone, but 350 euro for one of the best compact phones on the market right now seems fair to me. A lot cheaper than Iphone SE 64gb for instance.

  6. It's funny how everyone started crying about the processor, yet videos are posted the last days showing how the X compact (which is like $ 200 cheaper?) outperformed the galaxy S7 and the iPhone 7. Two words guys: software optimization! It's not only about specs!

  8. I have been looking for a new phone for years now. I bought the iPhone 4 when it was first released but have not bought another since-I don't think any company seems to be offering the wow factor these days. I'm disappointed in Sony as I have been ready to buy a Sony phone for a while but only if I feel it is worth it- I liked the look of the Z5 compact but it was too expensive for me at the time, so I decided to wait yet another year only to see that THIS is the latest offering? I want a small phone as I hate the massive ones but come on Sony, my iPhone 4 is 6 years old now and this is still not a good enough upgrade for me to consider. Looks like I'm not getting a new phone any time soon!! I don't care if it's a bit fat, all I want is oled–not too much to ask!! Not happy!!
