  1. Really 9+ hours a day on a phone. Kids really don't do anything outside anymore. Doesn't surprise me though as a male in my 20's I spend 3 hours a day on my phone and 5-6 hours a day watching Youtube.

  2. The thing is, this isn't really so shocking. People used to spend hours in front of their TVs. Was it all evil Tv company manipulation then? How about people who just love to read books all day? Evil book manipulation? No, that's wholesome and happy, evil technology and video games are the ones to blame!
……saying that, it cannot be denied that specifically through phone apps, notifications/likes and things like loot boxes you are really being targetted, much like irresponible TV advertising. So yeah that part is disturbing. But the device itself suddenly becoming super commonplace isn't shocking.

Now if you'd done more research on pople who not only feel a little anxious, but experience severe withdrawal symptoms and refuse ro leave the house or interact with society physically any more……that would have been interesting, because I know people like that myself, and it would be compelling to see if social media is a factor in that.

  3. I got frustrated with phones n ads n tablets n crap, cos people expect instant reply upon receiving, constant checking facebooks..etc as if you SHOULD know what they're up to cos they posted on fb.. so I told just uninstalled facebook, mute my phone at all times, and told people I don't use my phone that much so don't expect instant replies. As for addicting apps.. well I get this annoying feeling when I felt hooked, it's like I don't really want to continue but I'm still using it. and when I get that feeling, I just turn it off and uninstall it.

Always listen to your own mind.

  4. Mobile and Important in life > that a joke, Im always at pc, procrasination or productivity I do all on my pc, Phone is just a alternative if Im out of home or just want a break, feels funny my freinds say im old for not being on phone too much, and Facbeook ? nope i hate fb , Ive beeen a addict now IM not

  5. If you kid stays all day on the tablet the problem is you not the tablet, they go to the tablet because they have nothing to do or are bored so if you tell you kid to come with you to the park or to do any activity together, they won't stay on their phone because their not bored and they will do anything else happily
kids under 7-8 should stay less than 1h on their phone/tablet anyway

  6. Back when I was in grade school in the late eighties. Kids would say
"why do I need to learn to add and subtract, I have a calculator?" Now
kids say " why do I need to learn anything, I have a smartphone?"
