  1. I love Ebbers' outfit! Also, his non-reaction during the explosion is classic. I think Chefs and nurses (like me) have similar reactions to … unusual circumstances.

  2. I haven't watched the entire video but the first thing they showed is something I have in my kitchen that my mom STILL USE when we make cookies. I…. Feel old? This is vintage? It can't be…

  3. The Dough squitter is old but amazing , my grandma been using it until late like 2017 , 2018 and after cookies were baked she would put some apple or plum or cherry marmalade between them , usually on X-mas

  4. We had a very similarly designed toaster when I was growing up – you'd fan open the sides and sit the toast in the door. Brings back some memories (and burns)

  5. Great episode guys. On the sodastream front I went down this route 18 or so months ago to make my own tonic water (for G & T) and some light sparkling drinks based on Bottle Green syrups – primarily as a way to reduce the use of PET bottles. And it has really (really) worked well. BUT but I also decided I was not willing to pay the exorbitant price for refills so I bought the hardware and a contract on a CO2 cylinder so I can fill my own gas canisters. It really has worked out well. On the carbonation of stuff other than water.. yah tried it and got sprayed. Not worth the bother. Ohh and for your water bottles that you plan to make tonic or fruity sparkles with. Bottles of water in fridge for long enough to get really cold (ideally overnight). Prevents excitement when you slowly pour the flavouring syrup down the side into the bottle. Overall this has been a bit of a cost saver but a massive environmental saver from a PET bottle perspective.

  6. I used to have an alarm clock that my mum gave me, the alarm sound was similar to this but deeper. It was a truly horrible way to wake up!

  7. I had the first one and never knew what it was for because it was just a random thing in my parents kitchen we never used. Mom didn't know what it was either 👀

  8. This episode should‘ve been named „Trio of morning terror“:
„Aaah! Alarm scared the s#%t out of me!“
„Aah! Just burned myself on the Toaster!“
    „Aah! My bottle exploded!“
    😂

  9. For a long time growing up I thought a cookie gun was something most everyone had. My parents had two and a lot of their friends did too. Then I moved to the city and found that absolutely nobody even knew what they were.

  10. I have my grandmother's cookie press and it is similar to this one. I think the issue was the silicon mat. The cookies need to grip on to the pan. So you don't butter or line the pan.

  11. That toaster has one advantage over all the modern toasters I have been able to find recently. You can toast one side more than the other.
    WHERE'S MY DAMN CRUMPET SETTING

  12. Cookie presses are wonderful once you get used to them. I've had one for decades and can knock out dozens of perfect cookies in no time. I used it both in our catering business and at home. For some reason, I never found a chocolate dough that would come out right, but replacing the vanilla with other extracts, like almond or rum, allowed a variety of cookie flavors.

  13. I had one of these sodastreams when they were new. The cola was the worst attempt at a decent drink. The rest were OK, and the ginger beer was the best – guess which one they don't do now.
The gas cylinders are very expensive. I know of a number of people who have these and connect them to much larger cylinders so that they last longer and cost of ownership is much less. In my memory is that that cola was yuk.

  14. I remember when my parents got their first teas made (that very model) in the 70s it was a massive thing in our house and boy did it wake the whole household up in the morning.

  15. I make Spritz cookies every Christmas my favorite shape are the wreaths. They just seem very lovely and delicate. I love mine mine is at least from the 50s I would think I have three of them that I’ve inherited.

  16. LOL James just opened one of these in the is it worth it type episodes! I guess he forgot he already used the same thing just 6months earlier! 🤣

  17. That cookie press looks basically identical to one I bought (new) only a few years ago! They're useful, but definitely have their problems (don't work as well as you'd hope, making it sometimes easier to forego the gadget)
