10 NEW Electric Car Concepts that Should Hit the Production




After reviewing a great deal of concept cars we have noticed that most of the time some spectacular ideas never become a reality and fade away as a one time show model. The situation is practically the same on the EV market.

Car manufacturers like Honda, Mercedes, Audi and BMW have whole electric strategies based on their concepts, but will they ever be produced? We do agree, that while some automakers only come up with prototypes with fancy names, Tesla is electrifying the world, but have some faith and enjoy this episode were we gathered the most exciting new electric car concepts that in our opinion must hit the production and will further develop the world of EVs.

This concept is powered by two electric motors each dedicated to one of the axels. Combined output is 299 horsepower and 331 lb-ft of torque, which is enough to accelerate this car to 60 in 4.5 seconds.

On paper this concept, also called BMW i5, should be able to cover 373 miles on a single charge, and on the road is fast enough to surpass 120 mph speed and sprint to 60 in 4 seconds.

The series model based on Urban EV Concept shall arrive to Europe in 2019. This car is a part of this manufacturer’s strategy that has a goal of electrifying and smartening Honda’s car fleet.

Skoda Vision E Concept: skoda-auto.com/en/experience/concepts/visione

It is an SUV-crossover that will have two electric motors with the combined output of 300 hp, that will set acceleration to 62 miles per hour in 6 seconds. The overall driving range will be at 312 miles.

Audi Aicon Concept: audi.com/en/models/showcars/aicon.html

Since this autonomous car will be used for commutes and travel it focuses on long range that reaches 500 miles and fast 30 min 0-80% charging. It’s combined motor output is 354 horses and 405 lb-ft of torque.

This Jaguar is a reconfigured E-type Series 1.5 sports roadster of the 1968 model year, that got equipped with a specifically engineered 300 horsepower (220 kW) motor to fit the space previously occupied by the engine and gearbox.

Driverless two seater Smart Vision EQ Fortwo will be equipped with a 30 kWh battery that will allow almost constant operation throughout the day, and when the charge is low it will automatically go to the station.

Mercedes Eqa: mercedes-benz.com/en/mercedes-benz/vehicles/the-concept-eqa-electric-athlete/

EQA is a three door EV with two motors on each axle with combined output of 272 horsepower and 368 lb-ft of torque. The installed battery can store 60 kWh charge, ensuring 250 miles of range.

Jaguar Future-Type Concept: jaguar.co.uk/about-jaguar/concept-cars/index.html

Future-Type embodies the future of completely autonomous lightweight cars for ultimate on demand mobility. With this 3-seater concept Jaguar is playing with an idea of shared car ownership with personalized experience for each co-owner.

Renault Symbioz Concept: renault.co.uk/vehicles/concept-cars/symbioz-concept.html

Symbioz comes with 5th level of autonomy in this auto, so the driver can relax and talk with the passengers in the living room like environment. It is hard to imagine this electric vehicle being ever built, but Renault has mentioned the 2030.

The powertrain is still presented by 3 electric motors, with two of them on the rear axels and the combined output is 503 horses, resulting in 4.5 seconds 0-60. The range is 312 miles, due to the use of a high capacity 95 kWh battery.

  1. Smart EQ, front will bash the kerb and speed humps. Low roof line means ending neck until spine injury.
    Doors are good for shopping. White interior impractical.
    Needs a towbar to drag a.range extender.

  2. While others dream, Tesla is real – and several years ahead in design and technology. Computer-graphic cars are like Disney cartoons… impressive visually, but no real substance.

  3. Hydrogen cars are dangerous for explosion! Electric cars from the other Point of view imagine to stop somewhere, to be in a rush and need to wait 20-30min or 5-6 hours charge and probably behind others. And if is not charging because of battery issues or motor issues then the car will need factory and not car engineer. This is a shame to believe it will work. Petrol and diesel cars needs about a single minute for refueling and now emissions are very low with liquid cooled ecosystems.
    To add batteries with high density and high lifetime you need expensive materials, giving very high price to the cars. What happen is that a lot of companies spend mistakenly money on electric support and now they won’t their money back until 2050. I believe electric cars are for sure a scam that even been tried at 90s and failed. Now is going to be a biggest failure because they planed the scenario of the start and end time!!! THE FUTURE IS MAGNETIC AIR GENERATORS CARS.. NO BATTERIES AT All…NOW ENJOY PETROL&DIESEL BECAUSE ARE THE BEST. REMEBER TO HELP CHILDREN

  4. Make one with a short charging time and a long range capability, with a price tag that average folks like myself can afford, and I'm in. I know we've already got the Bolt and the Bolt is an awesome car, an affordable long range EV, but the bolt isn't sexy, I want a sexy car and hey, automakers, sexy is only skin deep, they could easily make a sexy sporty looking car if they wanted to, so how about it?

  5. It seems the future is just on the next corner… Finaly europe has waken. Combustion motores is so more expensive (so many parts) and complex… (Its like comparing the VHS / to the new smartphones technology)
    I like this future the problem is infrastructure… We are taught to be quick in choices, to be the best, the first, ultimately the cities will sufer major transformation or electricity will became extra expensive ( what i can't understand, because reclamation of wind and water to produce electric power is to short)
    In my country the dames liberate giant amounts of water which is lost, and than say there are droughts in sumer… Theres no intellect in this politic, just business. The nature will appreciate but the other problems will increase. The shift must be global in mind and action.
    I hope to my next car be one of this for the same amount €.

  6. Down load the article under alarprisk.de and see how these cars fit the future vision. These cars are all using batteries when we know that future cares may not need batteries. All these cars including the Audi, which is on the right track with its development still does not meet future requirements.

  7. Cool video! It's good to see this transition to Electric Vehicles is starting to move. However Even if the self driving capabilities are perfect, I don't think people will want the pleasure of driving to be completely taken off from them, so a car without a steering wheel like the audi and the renault in the video might not be as interesting. I mean, I wouldn't buy it, I doubt it would sell much.

  8. Emission-free transportation technologies have been available for mass production for over 25 years, but without the needed infrastructure. Cars – affordable for the general public – with engines of about 1 litre fuel consumption, or cars with real water-using engines have been ready for production for over 2 decades now. These high-tech prototypes were successfully tested in countries like Canada, USA, Australia, Norway, England, Sweden, Finland, Belgium, Holland, Denmark, Germany, Poland, France, Switzerland, Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, Israel, China, India, South Korea and Japan. We should already be manufacturing 35-40 million emission-free vehicles annually, and H2O engine systems should have been producing energy instead of our fossil-based and nuclear power plants. Entire technological documentations of such technologies have vanished in the EU`s Institute for Innovation and Technology, and, according to the legislation in order, it is right to be so. The expense involved in the production of such technologies is half of that of the traditional engines, they weigh about 70% less, and they can provide a huge torque. Their working range can be several thousand miles, cars could weigh 200 kg less, and their price could be 3-4000 Euros less. Segments of nearly the entire car industry secretly have the prototypes and successful tests. At the present moment we are poisoning our environment just out of mere arrogance and greed. We live in a cheap and indecent world. I firmly claim that we simply shouldn`t lie to 7 billion people, and this is only the tip of the iceberg. This information is entirely true and I hold myself accountable for its validity.

  9. wee want it now in the world to change go electric and save the world from the pollution. this is why people are getting sick from pollution . so why Waite long the more longer wee Waite .THE MORE LONGER WEE Waite THE WORSE IT WILL BE FOR THE HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT .

  10. They all look really good and its quite a broad spectrum of segments – seams like the days are soon over with weird looking EV´s, as they become larger segments. Now we just need some sound element that will add some soul and exterior indirect security – perhaps some rattling windpipes that can be switched on or off, or some tubes enhancing the sound directly from the E motor(s).
