  1. No, the reviewer is wrong. You don’t ever go back to the start of the level unless all your health vials are emptied. Which takes a lot of effort. The game is easy, simple and such a joy to play. Thank you IGN for getting another game review so wrong ????

  2. Worst review ever. Loved the game back in the day and love the remake more. Plays absolutely fine and is a pleasure to still play. The developers have done a brilliant job to take this amazing game and make it a near masterpiece of retro gaming. ????

  3. This man is complaining and saying the game is bad because he keeps dying even though he runs towards all of the enemies with the axe

  4. aren’t these the same fuckers that are able to beat every souls game that comes out?

how are they having trouble with Medievil then

  5. I had the original Medieval back on PS1 which I found entertaining and challenging. This remake may not have the nostalgia as the original but it certainly brings back the entertainment part of the game along with the challenges. I no longer have a PS1 so reminiscing about old games like that is pointless for me. The only old console I do own is the original xbox, however it's shelved and has drive issues which can be easily fixed. My other two consoles the Xbox one X and PS4 pro are my entertainment and I don't see upgrading to the ps5 or new xbox because people have gone batshit crazy mass buying those consoles and trying to get insane prices. Microsoft and Sony should be very ashamed for allowing this scam to continue and withholding release of more consoles so that people can buy at their originally intended prices. For now I am quite happy and thankful for my current consoles as prices on games continue to drop on both consoles I can build my collection. Medieval didn't really take the world by storm when it released on the ps1 however the game built a following of gamers like myself who enjoyed the game for what it was intended to be. The story was well written and the music was excellent. Like others there were issues with the sloppy control of the character but that was made up by the new released version of the game. There are still some bugs in medieval that might annoy others yet these are easily worked around and doesn't hamper finishing the game. Note that yes there is some framerate issues on the original ps4 but none on the ps4 pro. Kids today don't appreciate games like we did back in the day because they're afraid of challenging games.

  6. Why don't you just admit that you wanted to get through the game in 2 hours and got butthurt when you couldn't. I completed the game 100% without so much as a single game over. The only ones I got were the ones that were necessary for the trophy that requires you to get a game over in 7 different ways. And I'm someone who hates dark souls for the bull** difficulty.

  7. Just got my platinum trophy in the game 🙂

I really loved the game and it's atmosphere, especially I played the original game back in 98 when I was a kid.

However, I do understand why some people are upset. We have many games in the past few years that are INCREDIBLE!

So yes, it's not one of the THOSE games especially for those who didn't experience videogames back in the days.

Still, Medievil will always be a game that I will never forget 🙂

  8. Everybody disliking the review, but anybody who has played this game far enough knows he is straight up spitting facts. This was the 2nd game I ever played on my PlayStation which was my first console, and nostalgia be damned it was a pretty average game back than, and it is still a average simple game today. With a camera angle designed by somebody who had his arms cut off and his eyes ripped out.

  9. It is a remake, It’s not supposed to have gameplay differences, the objective is to keep everything of the original, adding only a few quality of life features…

  10. Played this game today, the camera can be a issue, it zooms in during enclosed spaces preventing you seeing run attacks from enemies and doesn't auto pan to face your front direction. This means in some scenarios you are going to take a massive health hit due to no fault of your own, which is a big deal on a level with no checkpoint. The game is challenging but no checkpoints i could have forgiven if the camera issues were at least handled.
