  1. They should put NY Philly and Boston in one division because those are huge rival cities. And the fact that philly was not mentioned was crazy Philadelphia has some of the craziest and most passionate fan base.

  2. realistically there are VERY few OWL pros that get big viewership on twitch and unless theyve been VERY smart with their salaries I dont see many making a successful transition into full time streaming. the inital bump theyd get from announcing retire to focus on streaming will dwindle and those gifted subs wont all stick around forever. the players definitely dont have the power that NBA and NFL players have.

  3. I'm pretty confused about how travel in this way is less expensive for teams. I would imagine having a player house and facility to be at half the time would be cheaper and cost less in travel than being in your home market between 2 and 5 weeks. They're basically going to be on the road non-stop with this model.

  4. Tyler said at least two years for the OWL to basically get their act together before the whole thing just comes towering down like other blizzard esports did, because of blizzard not being afraid to cut costs. I kind of agree, but kind of disagree here. I feel like Overwatch is much different than blizzard's other games, and for them to just cut it short and move onto their next project or next "big game" is crazy.

  5. If you watch this video you might have so many questions if it will work out or not but I remember when we saw the first game outside of LA in New York. Big crowd. The first Home stand Dallas. And now the ATL Home games. before Season 2 or the finals, we had questions if that even would work out. It did! OWL on ABC, sponsors from big companies, celebrities who visit OWL and OWL even featured in a TV show. Stuff we could not guess and for success, there must be failures as well so there might be a homestand that could be bad but that will not ruin the League in general.

  6. I'm pretty sure Houston is going to also be a major market for Overwatch League. They have been engaging a lot within Houston (as a Houston resident and fan). They also have one of the biggest fan bases of all the teams in the OWL.

  7. My guess is the OWL seems like its trying to make their esport more global, similiar to the LoL LCK and LCS divisions and the popularity of larger esports scenes like that of CS:GO's ability since a number of their tournaments are privately managed and streamed. It's very ambitious, but they're also competing internally as a company with their CoD World League no doubt. If it doesnt pan out in terms of numbers it's liable to go the way of Heroes of the Storm's scene. Though if they did the players may be somewhat more protected due to their contracts with their organizations.

  8. You are greatly mistaken when you say every team needs a charter private jet lol look at college sports how do you think they make it work?

  9. I don’t think players are leaving because of the travel schedule. I believe the sport breeds people who want to travel well. That’s a constant story with traditional athletes too. Some suck at away games lol they also dominate at home. Long term players will simply adapt
