  1. Just got this game free on Epic, set in the Spanish Flu outbreak you say – seems fitting, think I'll start my playthrough tonight

  2. I don't understand why there aren't more vampire games like this when they are everywhere in popular culture. Zombies don't suffer from that, yet the idea of vampires seems much more interesting to me rn, and is still fresh in video games. I still remember Soul Reaver, I loved that game.

  3. I got this game last year when it was on sale for $5 and recently gotten around to playing(3days) and finishing it last night(Normal). Approximately 25-30hrs to 100% completion on your own.
I will say it has a lot of uniqueness about it. I was drawn in with the regards of being a Doctor/Vampyr but it obviously has similar mechanics of other well known action/rpgs, and that's not a bad thing. I will say that I'm glad I got around to starting and finishing it because I was sleeping on it for awhile 😉.
I like the fact that you can keep every main NPC character in the districts alive and heal them as Dr. Reid as opposed to giving into your Vampiric "thirst for blood".
The combat is definitely something. Fun but also hanky janky.
Moments of fun and greatness but also moments of disaster and frustration, especially within a group if locked on or dashing and getting "trapped" and can't move between furnishings or enemies in combat. That was frustrating! It would be nice to see us be able to dash/teleport without getting caught between things? I mean we are a Vampyr after all!
The boss battles were very cool, slightly difficult and lots of fun! If we were to rate just the boss battles, it's easily a 9!
The story has depth for Reids' story but also tons of depth in-between NPC characters. Lots of engaging information and you do feel for the characters in some way or form.
All in all, I think lots of people missed out with this title. Me almost being one of them!
With all that said, I absolutely enjoyed the game and I do look forward to a Vampyr 2.
I believe if they can address some of the bugs such as loading times, a little bit more consistency within the main gameplay and not getting booted because of error codes then this could be a big win.
I will give the game a very solid 7/10 for what it is. If they cleaned up the issues, it's an easy 8-8.5.
If you get it free or very cheap, I do urge you to play this title!

Overall, a very pleasant experience and more than likely exceeded my expectations!
