  1. Why are you reading someone else's review ? His nervous breakdown, or just because they had to escape to another country to flee extradition for complete bull shippery ?

  2. Worst. Madden. Ever. Seriously.

I've been playing Madden since the very beginning. 5 different consoles, 4 different decades. This is the absolute WORST it has been, EVER. Actually, lemme correct myself. It's the worst until next year's game drops. Especially when you're talking current gen, which got 21 in all its broken glory a year ago. So lemme go back a bit before I bring this forward.

2013, EA brought Madden NFL 25 (2014, but cause reasons they opted to go Quarter with it) from the PS3 to the PS4 and so on. This was a complete game that got carried over to the new console and it played as such. EA for about three years from 15 on to 17 had something that they could've built upon, particularly with Franchise yet they just never figured it out. Same with gameplay, which hit the edge of the cliff in 18 then went all the way off once EA got it in its head to add Superstar X-Factor to the mix. Franchise from 25 up to 17, wasn't bad. It wasn't great but there was a very tangible foundation that could've been built upon if EA even bothered to build upon it. Instead, they ripped out the solid TV style presentation complete with pregame videos for primetime and playoff games in 25. 15 saw the addition of the in game highlights which never really got built upon. (NFL 2K5 remains the high water mark for this.) 16 saw a change in the layout for Franchise, which it maintained up to 18. Yet 16 was also the last time you had the ability to resign players at any time prior to Week 3 (this was beyond stupid, still is).

As for gameplay, good grief where to begin. Zones don't work, haven't worked in what feels like forever. You gotta turn the sliders up to see any kind of reasonably decent blocking on offense, or defense period. As for this homefield crap you were spouting off about, newsflash, it's NOTHING. It's Stadium X-Factor, cause this company can't help but double and triple down on the stupid within this game. NCAA Football pulled this off better, because in college football homefield matters way more than it does in the pros. They tied homefield in with how the players performed without making a huge thing. It flowed well within the context of the game you were playing. Make big plays, crowd quiets down while you're on the road. Do it at home, they make life miserable for the visitors. Try calling an audible without taking the crowd out of it on the road, there's a chance receivers run the wrong route or the wrong play is run period. It's not shocking or surprising that EA's Madden team would find a way to contort this in the most asinine way imaginable. Or forcing this in when homefield advantage at no point in the history of this game has ever meant anything. Not even during the game's glory days in the 00s to 2011 we'll say.

Wanna know why this review has more dislikes than likes? It's because the vast majority see through this BS and they're not here for it. This is the worst of the four major sports titles and has been consistently for the last handful of years. MLB The Show remains the platinum standard for what a sports game should look like, without monopolizing the market. They've simply made a product that's so far ahead of the masses, nobody's even bothering to try them. EA has hollowed out the mode which once upon a time, was the reason people bought Madden on the regular. This all changed once Madden became about Ultimate Team and basically fleecing the mindless masses who haven't figured out that their MUT squads and all the money that they pump into them, are moot the second the following year's game drops. I stopped this video not even halfway through cause the lip service being paid to this game is exactly that, LIP SERVICE. Even as I type this, there are videos of this game in all its busted splendor on YouTube that slam this on its head repeatedly. Ryan Moody could probably fill every calendar day up to the release of next year's title with one botch from this game and never repeat the same thing twice. This game shouldn't have been put out in the state it was released in, yet EA did so cause they knew people would drop money on it. There's a reason why this company made it avaialble to play for 'free' (ya had to have EA Play or whatever the XBox equivalent is) twice within a month of the initial release. There's a reason why this company feels no real pressure to change, cause they have folks like you willing to espouse their greatness which is as shallow deep as their game is. This isn't simulation football any more than skim milk is milk. Skim Milk is water that can't make its mind up about what it really is. Madden is precisely that with Superstar X-Factor, which rips away any shred of simulation football or meaning behind the ratings that this game swears to you means something. Every patch seems to break something else that wasn't broken, or make a problem worse than it was in the first place. Franchise remains a 'wait and see' deal which shouldn't be what a company asks people to pay for. All told, Madden 22, err 21.1 is a crappy experience if you're not here for Ultimate Team. Franchise is merely a work in progress, where the work is next to nonexistent. Gameplay is abysmal. I gave it a flat 0 for a Metacritic score cause in my time with it, I saw no positives at all. Looks like the same can be said for this fluff piece passing itself off as a review.

  3. A 7!!!! How can you say a 7 when in your own video you said that games completely crash and whip your progress? So your saying the game doesn’t work but you grade it a 7?

  4. PSA: I just want y’all to know that when I sit down to watch a football game on Sundays the main thing I’m MOST excited for is when the broadcast shows me the fans in the stadium 👍

  5. wow, seriously gamespot? paid off much? this review is horrible and sounds just like the promo videos EA devs do to sell us more crap in a perfume laced bag. lost credibility with this

  6. :52 cant't believe this made a "highlight". anyone who's played this sorry excuse for NFL simulation knows that interception situation. The ball trajectory is all off. Qb's never lead a fly route. I have NEVER seen an overthrow in Madden. and of course, the receiver doesnt fight for the ball. In madden when you throw vs 1v1 coverage, you know 90% of the time the outcome isnt favorable and you are just praying the ball isnt picked.

  7. "[…] will release a new scouting system for free in september" – Well, "for free" seems to be a flexible term. On the other hand, it wouldn't surprise me the feature to be a DLC for lets say 19,99

  8. Year after year after year everyone complains about the same things. And yet, year after year after year, people are still buying this game. So really who's to blame? EA or you? STOP buying the game.
