  1. Anyone that thought you'd be playing AAA titles for 8 hours or anything close to it has wildly fantastic expectations. My MSI gaming laptop lasts about 2 hours in heavy game play and that's not unusual for any laptop. Why are there still people that think the Steam Deck will magically do something like 8?

Valve gave a very rough estimate for battery life because they kind of had to. People won't buy a device without some indication of what battery could be. But it's going to vary DRASTICALLY based on what you specifically are doing and how. Background software, games, game settings, OS settings, power profiles, etc. It will even vary from update to update on specific games.

That's part of the tradeoff of being a PC. The only way to get a fairly accurate guess is to limit everyone to doing the same thing the same way with software designed for that hardware specifically… like Nintendo.

  2. Just a note on the review: Please show the things you are talking about! For example: Mentioning the fan noise should immediately follow footage and AUDIO of how loud it can get in a quite room. Same thing as when you mention Stellaris text being too small, can we see footage of that?

  3. Don't downgrade to your OS to Windows. It's bloated, insecure, and spies on you. Windows will not run nearly as well on the Steam Deck as Steam OS will.
