  1. Considering the worldwide chip shortage, and really no need for this much of a performance upgrade within a years time (that M1 Ultra chip is literally double the size of the M1 Pro), Apple should chillll lol. I get that they’re ultimately worried about their bottom dollar, hence the new Studio, but is quarterly growth really sustainable…or necessary? Is updating class leading products/chips across the board every year necessary? I mean, I don’t think the competition can even compete with a 2 year Apple hardware/software cycle but who am I kidding lol

  2. 2:48 Companies cannot claim to care about the environment if they keep making products that are non-reparable and non-upgradable.
In Apple's case: all M1 products are non-upgradable and very hard if not impossible to repair, the Studio Display they announce in the same presentation has a built in, non-interchangeable stand or mount adapter (e.g. you don't get VESA mount if you choose a stand), the Apple pencil's battery just dies if you don't use it enough, just to name a few. Shut your mouth Apple.

  3. Although the Apple Studio display is not marketed as HDR, most other manufacturers would definitely market a 10-bit, 600 nit monitor as HDR. Mac OS is also fully capable of displaying HDR content (differently from SDR) through an Apple monitor, although obviously it's limited by the maximum brightness of the monitor.

  4. "… introducing one last chip to the M1 family" probably means the Mac Pro chip will be in another family. A dedicated pro chip line? M2 family? Would be anticlimactic if the Mac Pro also used the M1Ultra.

  5. Pro features on iPad air are nice, but will be limited by only one usable storage option. Disappointing, not worth upgrading to, I'll wait for new iPad Pro 11 inch.

  6. I don't have anything Apple except for an old iPod. feel like if I went down to am Apple store and said give me the works, it would be equal to my annual income, and would be old by the time learned how to use it all.

  7. Can anyone explain to someone who's never owned an iPhone or Mac product why exactly the new desktop offerings are impressive? I'm very happy with my 3900X system I built in 2020 with 64GB RAM and don't have to pay a fortune to upgrade storage etc. 5900 and 5950X are really good and render times even with my 3900X system are better than I need with gpu acceleration from a nearly 5 year old gtx 1080. I can see why the Macbook pro with the m1 chips for portable editing is probably best in class but unfamiliar with the desktop ones
