  1. @12:38 this is the only real point of contention for me. "Not only is DB FighterZ FINALLY a good DB game"; I don't know if the implication here is that the game had a rough patch when it first came out that it overcame, or if it's that FighterZ is the first good DB game.

I'm going to assume that it's the latter and that's a hard disagree from me. You have games like Infinite World, Budokai 3, and Tenkaichi 3 and even though Tenkaichi 3 on its surface seems like a simple game there's plenty of sophisticated stuff you can do with dash cancels and air combos.

I think FighterZ is generally the game people like to uphold as being the pinnacle because it's super similar to games like MvC3, only with a DB skin. Not knocking the game but it's far from the "first good DB game"

  2. No Soul Calibur 2. No Tekken 3. No Tekken 5 Dark Resurrection. No Ultra Street Fighter 4. No Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo. No Street Fighter EX 2 Plus. No Marvel vs. Capcom 2. But they picked… Skull Girls, DBZFZ, and GG Strive? As the best fighting games? Just, no.

  3. i will never understand the choice that arcsys made for strive. to a certain extent sf aswell, throwing out legacy skill has to be the worst choice a fighter can make. putting aside the veteran player argument. it splits your playerbase.. why would you want that?
think about tekken, they have stayed true to legacy characters and skill for 7 games now. and with each new entry the entire fanbase moves to the newer game. as a pose decent portions staying with your old game because they like how that works and have sometimes thousands of hours of practice in it.
i donno, i feels like throwing the baby out with the bath water, they think they are making these choices to bring in new players but your losing an equal amount old players to your own games.. it just seems a little dense when you take the reality into perspective. you can entice new players to try your game without shitting on your long time fans.. i donno why that concept is so hard to understand.
