  1. If you have one of the supported keyboards the headset can project a sharper virtual clone of your keyboard over the top of your real physical keyboard… its one of the reasons the Logitech K830 is so hard to find now…. actually macbook keyboards are one of the supported keyboards in horizen workspace
Unfortunatlely they only seem to support US layouts which means the enter key is misalined with my uk keyboard

  2. this is good for the layman. They don't want or aren't aware of some of the things you can do. Just how does it work out the box.

  3. Just get a hefty power bank with a belt pouch. Strap it on the belt, cable on your back threaded through to the headset so it doesn't get in the way of your hands, you're all set for several hours if not the whole day.

  4. Why spend $1500 for this when you can get the same function in Nreal AR glasses for $350? Also, Meta quest pro seems very bulky. Does it allow settings for people who need to wear prescribed glasses?

  5. It has a lot of nuances because it's just not where it needs to be and especially for the price! It has a few things going for it, but it's still not there, but it's the first of it's kind. I'll wait till the price goes way down before getting hyped about it. (But make no mistake, I'll be watching this one.)

  6. You used Meta’s weak first party app. Try again with Immersed. Part of Immersed is the community around it so definitely dive into the Discord, join the public coworking spaces. For the keyboard, you totally CAN map out your keyboard and get an overlay. So this is kind of a weird complaint if it’s something they’ve had for awhile.

  7. Great video, thanks. Btw – keyboard passthrough and even virtual recognition of your keyboard is already implemented and quite workable if you have the right keyboard and take the time to set it up.

  8. The quest pro is definitely just a devkit unfortunately, and not a plug and play xr device. Anyhow, here's a couple of notes:

    1. You do NOT need Internet speed for lag free streaming. You just need a good router, which doesn't even have to be connected to the Internet, but it does have to be connected to your laptop with an ethernet cable and your headset have to be connected via the 5ghz channel. Ser bandwidth at 80 as well. Remote desktop works perfectly like that, and I imagine all the other apps does too. If it doesn't, it's probably because of the lack of gpu power in apple products.

    2. There has been a couple of keyboards available for tracking in the quest 2 firmware for a while. I'm sure they're working on more keyboards being compatible with the quest Pro. I tried it with a logitech keyboard in my quest 2, almost a year ago and it worked very well!

  9. I'm sure people have told you this by now, but you actually can do pass through mode for just to your desk so you can see your keyboard and still be in the log cabin or whatever

  10. A number of the issues mentioned in the video would be addressed by using Immersed instead of Workrooms. But, Workrooms is more stable overall and simplified, so I use them both interchangeably. Also, as there is keyboard tracking for certain keyboards, and I find that it works decently well.

  11. I'm kinda surprised you had to use wifi, considering the quest 2 can be plugged directly into a desktop for use. Maybe the app is being modified for laptop work use, where it leverages enough of gpu/cpu to be a more viable option, but not so much for gaming. With wifi the latency and artifacting would produce the much more blurred image you experienced. As you said, it's still a very early product that has a ways to go. Much like the first smart phones, these devices will get lighter and more efficient

  12. You seem to be confusing the per eye resolution with the total display resolution. Use Immersed if you actually want to be able to read stuff.

  13. .. 2005 CRT!? I remember when those were the Bee 's knees! Really good review and timely. As soon as the resolution issue is addressed, this will be my go-to as I travel a lot of the time. Thanks!

  14. Bro, the resolution is 1920 by 1800 in each eye, that’s almost 4K. Your downplaying the resolution.

I have a 49 inch curved Samsung display so I did have to adjust my computers resolution some but not to no 720. Awesome video otherwise. Hope to see more.

  15. i know they have been trying to map keyboards for a while now and there is a handful of them that work with the quest 2. I assume they would be tracked by this headset as well with the main one being the logitech k830. Which has mostly been out of stock over the last year or so… But, it is available now with logitech's site saying limited availability… and its also on sale

  16. I used to be able to see the mapped virtual keyboard of my MacBook in Workrooms no problem, just had to configure it in settings. I doubt that they removed the support for this feature (I was using MacBook Pro 13" and Air models over a year ago), also it would be strange if they didn't add the support for 14" and 16" models yet
