  1. The amount of VR players is slowly growing. It's better than 2018 for example because price of VR headset is high for most people AND you need some beefy pc too, which doubles literally the step higher.
And we must don't forget not all people can handle VR well due sensitive mind. Motion sickness is still there. This is why VR market is still small compared to normal PC gamers.
VR will better every year for sure, as long step is low and motion sickness is less a problem.
And quality of VR games needs also better, but the level of Alyx is not simple. You need big company to get such high level VR game. VR game has one problem: we have many different VR headsets, so that is more work compared to PC game who is more universal, same for consoles.
I will make some VR games in VRChat when i learned enough programming skills.

  2. What an odd contradiction. They talk about emotion and reading between the lines that VR offers a new way to experience gaming which is why they walked away from AAA traditional work and then go and develope a shooter of all things. It was a massive assumption on my part but I was half expecting some bat shit crazy outside the box game mechanics/story telling.

  3. It's videos like this that keep me interested in the VR. I first discovered VR during a Tuesday Newsday. A year later I bought my first VR headset. Hell I've even built a gaming PC just to support my habit. Your videos are an inspiration, I can't wait to see what you have in store for the rest of this series.

  4. I've looked at their game, swords of gargantua and read in the comments, that thirdverse spitted on their customers by shutting down servers and made it unplayable EVEN FOR SINGLEPLAYER. My feedback is, don't do that?

  5. Feedback is the bread and butter of VR Games, not just now, but ever since the VR Scene exploded in 2016. I personally experienced the impact of such feedback throughout the development of VTOL VR. I was one of the earliest people to be able to try it and the quick iteration cycle, which included my feedback within a day, if not sometimes hours, allowed very fast iteration on a back then very simple concept. The game has become something special because of it, the love for the little things by both the testers and the developer.

  6. Man😂 they only feedback I can give at the moment for VR games is clicking the like button.

Though this video was really insightful, I can't wait to see the next installment to this series.

  7. While I love the docuseries style of video that you've embarked on with the Japan VR series, I'm curious where else you could go with this concept. I suppose Korea, and some parts of Europe. Do you already have places in mind as a follow up? Either way, best of luck to you and keep pushing VR, not for corporate entities, but for us the fans.

  8. As an old enthusiastic Final Fantasy Brave Exvius player, god I hated how predatory that video game was lol. So I'm very cautiously optimistic about it when the CEO of Gumi enters the VR scene.

  9. I been burned by gumi's aggressive PvP models where they charge crazy amounts for in game purchases, so as much as this looks fun, I'm scared what kind of pandora's box they're opening…

  10. Imma be toxic and tell you, yoir videos are perfect cause you are in em <3 lol, no but its all good, as long as you do your best to promote this wonderful vr community, also hanks for the heads up about the beta, ill do my best to try and be honest about my experience

  11. Damn, those games looks very promising and I'm specially interested on the Hero Shooter one. I can't wait to see what the other studios are doing!

By the way, Thrill, have you tried Rumble VR? I think Rumble compeletely nails "game feel" when it comes to casting abilities by using motion based commands. It would be amazing if you could take a look and bring more light to it!
The 2 step martial arts stances are so organic, the combat flows very well while still feeling ludic, meaning it doesn't feel like you're just moving your arms in a fumbling manner to only cast the abilities. Though the way we look when playing it is another topic xD
