  1. Fuckin' thank you. I've seen so many folks dismiss these games because of that stupid-ass comparison. Hell, it's part of the reason I was so late getting into the franchise, apart from missing out because I never had consoles. I could've at least gotten into it the moment Zero first released on PC, but at the time I'd focused my attention on other games because I just assumed this'd be like a Sleeping Dogs but in Japan. Probably good, but probably something I've played before. Turns out, it's nothing like any open world I'd played prior, and it's better than a lot of games that have come after. If I'd kept buying into the dumb shit review sites throw out about this series, I wouldn't already be at Like A Dragon after getting through the entire Kiryu Saga by now.

  2. I've never trusted nor had any respect for IGN for reviews on any games, so many good games criticized often for shit that doesn't make sense like they've never played a game of that genre. It seems like they're reviews will go like this "Minecraft is a vast open world with plenty to do to set itself apart from other games but it's core focus on creativity makes prolonged play a bother for those that want more action. We give it a 6.5 Outdated Graphics, Lack of Action, Lack of Story." This just being a made up example of how they'll critique games, often times having people that have never played a game in the genre that they are reviewing. Even more to the point, they'll give extremely good reviews to trash games sometimes looking over extreme gameplay bugs, or unfun/broken gameplay elements. They do this so often now that it feels pretty obvious they are being paid by the company on the side to give their game a good review which ruins any bit of authenticity or authority on the media to me because they just feel like sell outs. Don't trust them find other reviews for your games online before purchase.

  3. The love child of jrpg grand theft auto… let it sink in, no seriously just take about 10 seconds and think about that. How do people compare yakuza to gta AGH MY BRAIN I DONT UNDERSTAND! ITS A FUCKING BEAT EM UP AAAAGH!

  4. Yakuza is nothing like gta 😅beyond gang stuff but that’s in lots of things

If I was to say what yakuza is like I’d say it’s kinda like sleeping dogs and shemu combat wise

Open world wide it’s like persona you have a city that you can explore and do things in sometimes 2 city’s

Story wise it’s linear it’s serious like god of war but it’s also extremely funny and comical like persona

It’s got amazing songs that are bangers

And it has amazing bosses (most of the time 😅)

It’s story’s are usually long and are full of amazing plot twists that aren’t completely obvious like other games

(Yh ik persona does also have a serious story but it’s definitely full of funny moments)

  5. It's because game ""reviewers"" have like 2-3 days max to play a game, so they mainline the plot and then complain that the games are too samey after not experiencing 70% of it

  6. Gotta love how they call it “GTA” when they didn’t do the basic actions like attacking NPC’s and hijack cars. 🙄Also, spoiler alert to non-Yakuza gamers, there’s none of that. It’s basically 3D Earthbound where enemies chase you, then make you engage into a 3D fight to win cash.

  7. I haven't played a Yakuza game just yet, so take what I'm about to say with a little bit of salt but…

Judging by gameplay footage I've seen from various Yakuza games, none of it reminds me of any GTA game in the slightest.

  8. I just hate that IGN always compares games to others and scores them on being too much or not enough like said game. Like Yakuza isnt GTA and SMT isnt Persona. Whoever keeps writing the reviews for these games needs to be replaced by someone who knows that the games are different lmao

  9. I used to scold my friends for comparing Yakuza to GTA, but ultimately they've never played them so it's understandable. That leads to a genuine question of how the hell a "game critic" that supposedly has played through the whole game can say something this outragious and absurd? I guess it's no different than them saying "it's like the dark souls of [game genre]" when the game is challenging.

  10. They gave Like a Dragon a 7?! The same game I played with my now favorite dysfunctional family, a great new protag, an amazing soundtrack and that started a wave of new fans into the franchise? Sure. There's stuff you can argue about and it certainly isn't perfect, but maaaan.

  11. Until this video, I have no idea IGN gave Lost Judgment a 7/10?!!

What the fuck, this is a crime to gaming, how does this get way lower than other objectively shit games
