  1. Can you get by using a smartphone for video? I constantly get asked this question. The answer is… it depends on what you're using it for. There will always be a market for both in my opinion. Hopefully this video helps answer this common question.

  2. When am doing serious jobs i don't usually get iPhone involve anymore can't take the insults i got from a client when i did try using my iPhone to do his job yes it has great output but is not suitable for every job it can come in as an emergency alternative

  3. Love how you explained that. Thank you so much 🙂 Ps: On Samsung phones you have the option to shoot on the Pro video mode wich allows you to control your settings very well.

  4. For free or small budget project🎥 something like real estate I found iPhone much better than my mirrorless camera. Better I mean much easier to operate, 4 bedroom house I can do with 15 minutes😂 with mirrorless over 1 hour.

  5. Definitely a great breakdown! I started filming with my iPhone but eventually upgraded to a mirrorless. I used to think that gear mattered more than the content but with today's form of content– it just allows you to create any type of video that contains a mixture of clips/photos from any device 🙂 Do with what you have!

  6. I am going to participating in a photography (not video)competition where only 12 MP DSLR cameras and mobile cameras are allowed to be used.I am confused whether to rent a dslr or an iPhone.I don't own both 🤷‍♂️.

    Edit:Share your thoughts 🙂

  7. 📱v 📸 Great side by side and as always very polished presentation. I will always use my iPhone 13 Pro Max 1TB for some of my filming projects and my DSLRS for when I require better quality 👌🏻

  8. the point of using a interchangeble lens camera is to use a better lens like the prime with bright aperture… but if u want to compare the 1000 USD price with an iphone, then okaaaay haha

  9. Canon r10 w/ 18-150mm kit lens = $1,279

    Canon pancake RF 50mm f/1.8 lens = $149

    Mentioned Rode mic = $80

    Two extra batteries = $60

Total cost of everything listed in video: $1,568

Yikes. I’m a huge proponent of not shooting on one’s iPhone… but geez – when you put it like this, it’s kinda hard justify this. I really enjoyed this video. Thank you for making this; I thought it was a very impartial video.

  10. I need to get a smartphone for shooting concerts. It's the only thing I can get into a show. Is there anything better than the Apple 14 pro max? I know jack about phone cameras.

  11. If you take off HDR off it doesn’t have the ghosting effect and if you turn down your exposure on your iPhone depending on how extremely bright it is in the room your footage comes out extremely better. I have been using my iPhone 14 Pro Max for filmmaking more than most. I know how to use it in a very professional manner.

  12. Love this breakdown! I own 2 R7 cameras paired with Canon's beautiful 15-35 2.8 and 24-70 2.8 for my media production company and have been super happy with the quality. I have even used them as b and c cameras paired with RED Komodo and look fantastic. Canon R7 is my pick for best Entry level camera

  13. As a long time iphone user. I can’t tell that it has a great camera over dslr or mirrorless. Too much computational processing ruins entire image and it’s worse in low light.

  14. I've tried to get into photography with my iPhone and many previous phones, but it doesn't feel like I'm "doing photography". It just feels like I'm taking snapshots. I'm grateful that phones have such good cameras relative to their size, but it just never did it for me and still doesn't. Just seems like the quality is never good enough, as it is always over sharpened and "digital looking"

Overall, if I want to do photography or videography specifically, like nice yearly vacations, family events, portraits, street photography, etc. I'll always take my Fujifilm. If I'm just going somewhere, my phone works in a pinch in case I didn't bring my camera.

  15. Ohh cheesus Smart features VS Camera that doing only a camera thing ehh 1/0 points. Stupidity You are comparing cameras not what can make a call or you can send test message ehh.

I come back to my old Pint and shot camera even if I have very good camera in my Huawei mate 10 Pro. Smartphone Use more for paper work photos and job. I have more fun with old 2013 Panasonics Lumix DMC-sz9 And soon I will have more other point and shot camera super cheap-good condition.

  16. Man oh man, what a great video. Not only well presented in typical Parker fashion, but also a perfect topic to cover for new YouTubers and people looking to get into video. Thanks!

  17. I dunno, I've seen iphone 14 images vs a 10 yr old CCD DSLR, the old DSLR took photos like a champ and real life look. not be 4k but the colors were more accurate and blur and sharpness were true.

  18. iPhone is more like 16mm, not 18mm field of view, which is quite a significant difference, it's very noticeable and makes a big difference if you need to film a tutorial video say, you may get away with 16mm, but 18mm is just far too tight.
