  1. Yup mini 3 pro is a great drone, and yes it can fly in some windy conditions, however the Air 2S can fly in absolutely insane windy conditions. Not to take anything away from the mini 3 being nice, but if you can afford it, the air 2s is a rock star for the money. Just hands down the best value on the drone market.

  2. I had two assumptions about this video that were both wrong, a pro and a con. The first was that the 'best drone' would be some small, no-name company making a genuinely good drone on paper (good specs, better price, etc) as a competitor to the 'big names' in the industry, but would inevitably be the same problem we always get with these things – terrible software support/growth. Pleasantly surprised to see something from a known, reliable entity picked as the best one. The mini 1 was absolutely a disappointment, a $600 flying webcam glorified as something 'real', and it's amazing to see they've taken the time to really improve on the mini series for this one. It's a shame that the "entry level" drone still costs over a grand (I remember the Spark with great sadness, RIP)

The other assumption was that there would be some funny gag about the b-roll footage of you in the studio, where the cameras were not on tripods, that those would be actually shot on the drone itself. Was slightly surprised (not quite disappointed!) to see that wasn't the case, but I definitely think it would have been amusing, as well as a very solid showoff of the drone's video quality, to have one hovering in the studio while you filmed yourself talking, and used that as some of the side angle shots / b-roll. (I've used a few Sparks for this for music video production, even indoors, both as a handheld/tripod cam and as an actual hovering virtual tripod cam, and while I haven't got my hands on a mini 3 yet, it seems like it would be very good for this!)

  3. For better or worse the mini 3 pro is at a different level than the Mini Line. The price jump was Sickening, and then to release a stripped down version Non Pro for barely less cost is Some insanity. This will help the recreational UAS use in a Negative way. The average costs of these things is reaching Past the willingness of the average consumer to stomach.
It's sad that MOST Youtube channels are Openly or Not advertisements for a few Corporations. DJI Bias Anyone??

  4. Thanks for this Kelly. I live in New Brunswick Canada (hope you visit sometime soon :-)) I am a licensed drone pilot and just sold my phantom and have been going back and forth between Air 2S and Mini Pro3. Now mind you the Peggy's Cove wind was actually pretty mild for average conditions there. But yeah, you definitely have me thinking about the Mini 3 Pro again.

  5. I’m actually going to disagree, I bought the Mini 3 with the controller and fly more kit and Care Refresh for two years yada yada yada. I actually loved the camera don’t get me wrong and the quietness but I couldn’t get over the design. It felt so cheap and plasticity and not as solid as the Mini 2. I didn’t like how it folded either. I wish I’d skipped it. So I kept the controller and use it with my Air2S and sold the drone, batteries etc. I took a bit of a loss but ya live and learn. I much prefer the Air2S honestly. I’m in the minority I guess 🤷🏻
