  1. I wonder why Pimax wont let you review Crystal. Also I find it extremely suspicious how MRTV is skimping for Pimax lately. Thru the lenses Beyond vs Crystal would be very interesting.

  2. This is what I wanted from the headset minus the FOV (which apparently got increased to near index levels in latest iteration) and minus the fixed IPD. If they made a different version of the headset as well that is a bit bigger and heavier but has mechanical IPD adjustment then I wouldn't have to think twice about buying it. Unfortunately we never get the perfect headset that hits all the points.

  3. Congratulations ๐ŸŽ‰on becoming a father. Great overview of the beyond, look forward to the through the lens comparison.

  4. The Biggest complaint with this custom face plate and fixed IPD will make these impossible for friends and family to use and also to re-sell later on . both are BIG problems that should not exist As it really devalues what I am paying for. Especially when you also factor in the lack of audio options and having the purchase an also NOT cheap tracking solution from valve, I mean what Happens later on down the line if valve discontinues the index tracking solution ?. I Really want to get excited about this device as I have been here since the DK2 days and I am all in on VR and I now am trying to pivot to VR developer. from MY I.T job But it seems like to many compromises were made here to make this so small. when it could have been just a bit bigger and had universal faceplate and built Audio and ipd adjustment

  5. This is such an exciting time for headsets. Between some of the new contenders, the Quest 3, PSVR2, Apple Headset and alleged Deckard news, there are a lot of awesome devices floating around.

For me though, the one that I want to see more than any other is the next Valve headset!

  6. this, with foveated rendering with eye tracking with a larger FOV and that's is what i will spend my money on! Its all I've wanted since having the DK2/CV1, the only thing since the dk2/cv1 that has really changed is is resolution… always wanted a larger fov, foveated rending is just a must to help with fps and high resolution.

  7. Yes, it's small, but I have no interest in going backwards with an FOV that's smaller than my old Index or lacks quality off-ear audio drivers like my old Index.
I get that they heavily focused on lightness and visual clarity. Visual clarity is the one improvement I've always wanted from the start with every VR HMD, but hopefully Bigscreen can greatly improve the FOV and show audio quality of their head strap is amazing before release.

  8. Not sure if you mentioned one of the huge positives for this headset, or maybe I missed it (listened to video while cooking)… It doesn't need any other layer of software! So nothing like PiTool or the Aero software for example.

  9. I was really looking forward to thos headset but this video really puts off. Think I'm going to wait and see what Quest 3 / index 2 has to offer.

  10. Watched 4 other reviews. Reviews from content creators quite awesome at what they do. This was my favorite review. Nice work. Glad to have ya back.
