  1. I got this free on ps plus. Ran into a few bugs which caused me to restart an area but I did like the puzzles, not as tedious as this review makes out. For me the music was the main attraction of the game. The game has a real charm about it.

  2. I hate how any game trying to do something different with the story is "artsy for the sake of being artsy."

This isn't some lame walking simulator with some graphical gimmick or something. It's not up it's own ass with it's "artsy-ness." If this game comes off as "too artsy" for you maybe you should lighten up and just enjoy it instead of being afraid of being "hipsterized."

  3. As sad as it is I have to agree with IGN here. I haven't actually found any bugs yet, nor do I think the graphics are bad (I actually think the graphics are very good) and the running feels extremely smooth. The problem is that you just walk to levers, pull them, and then search for the next lever to pull. It's not intelligent nor is it very fun to do. The setting is extremely well done, but it's more like a movie with delay in between scenes where you have to walk…

  4. I really dont see wht ppls problems are with this game, the art design is extremly unique and sure the game isnt the best looking but it works and the puzzles are cute and interesting i do think they could have added some more interesting puzzles, instead of the same three but overall for a game i got off ps now for free its about at 7/10

  5. This game is great! Sure it has its flaws (it definitely needs some better graphics), but the story was well done, and I actually really liked the puzzles. Most of them weren't hard to pull off, but they all added depth and personality to the game. I'm glad I got this for free through PS Plus! I would have gladly paid 5 bucks for it! 8/10

  6. Ik this game has flaws but it isnt about the gameplay its about the story which not many games have anymore, alot of the games this month are for the story not necessarily the gameplay i am kind of disappointed tho not in the games but the commentors complaining because a free game didnt satisfy them not all games are supposed to be fun some are supposed to make you think

  7. It's rare that I actually agree with an IGN review. I'm playing this game for the 1st time in 2015 and although I haven't experienced any bugs (most likely patched out), the gameplay is dull, the puzzles are lackluster and the story is artsy for the sake of being artsy. I'd be pissed if I bought this. Since it's a PS+ game and because the game can be beaten in 3 hrs, I give it a pass.

  8. I see Papo & Yo as an ok game it's not great but it's not bad either. Graphics weren't as bad as IGN made them out to be and although the story wasn't the most engaging of stories it still delivered on the message it was trying to achieve. I say that it was a deserved PSPlus download as it is a game that does offer meaning to a subject that is barely touched upon in gaming, the game is personal to the developer and I give him respect in making a game about his past experiences. If you are a PSplus subscriber then I recommend you pick this one up before it leaves the store at the end of the month.

  9. Guys remember this review was in 2012. I recently played Papo & Yo and I played it from start to finish in 2-3 days since I had breaks aswell. It is a short game about a boy who the monster posing as his father has drinking problems. The boy wants to find a way to cure his problems by exploring this world that I personally think is the dreaming. The ending I found got me a better understanding of what has happen. Btw the doll things are collectables for achievement. It's like a second playthrough thing.

    I would give this a 9/10
    Positive:
    Detail
    Movement
    Puzzles
    Mechanics

    Negative:
Platforms to jump on since you could fall off easily

  10. People should calm down about the review. They should be happy that not everybody in IGN is a swj feminist that would give a 10 to a piece of junk just to push the their agenda. The game was full of bugs, and more importantly boring!! A "game" is supposed to be fun and entertaining and you can't accomplish that just with the story. Even the graphics don't have to be that HD as long as game sucks you in, but this one is so boring that it doesn't and that makes the low graphics more evident.

  11. the game is very good. Dont know about all the bugs and problems when it was released back in 2012, but as I played in 2015, all I can say is that Papo & Yo is a good game and deserves a chance from PS Plus subscribers. Makes a great double session with Brothers.

  12. Yeah maybe the issues in this game might have something to do with a low budget…which might have something to do with everyone only buying the same COD bullshit every year and "reviewers" like ign sucking its balls all over again.

  13. Well on the pc version i experienced no bugs, no crashes and I don't think the game was aesthetically ugly. Its hard for an indie developer to optimise a game for a console and have good textures and effects.

  14. I played it all the way through and can only agree on the frame rate issue. however, it only happened once and even then i can just as easily blame my computer as i can the game. And just because something is easy doesn't mean it is not enjoyable.

  15. I haven't played this but it looks pretty boring.  There's an argument to be made for the story but it's possible to make a game that has a good story and good graphics and good gameplay.  This just looks repetitive and easy.

  16. If you like games like ICO and Journey and other arty indie titles with a focus on great music and story with soul, then buy this game! I've have no technical difficulties on steam, it was a pleasure to play.

  17. Man, I wish I could rate IGN.

    Literacy: 1/10
Accepting Payola from Big Publishers: 9/10
    Smelling: 7/10
Bringing down the industry to the level of the dudebro: 9/10
    Being a doodie head: 10/10
Blaming the bugs on Papa y yo instead of a fragmented download: 10/10!

  18. Is that all that people care about graphics and animations. Geez if that is what you're looking for why are you even playing video games. There are ally od games that don't have good graphics but a good storyline. Really, to me a good storyline whether it is complex or not is the main part for me, along with music and characters and just the purely random things that can happen. Graphics are good too but they aren't the main things I look for. Another things, so what if a game has a few bugs, that is bound to happen in evertgame and gaming consoles. If it happens, it can be frustrating oh well, stuff like that always happens. Nothing is perfect.
