Judgment Drone Racing [Championship Grand Prix] – 10 Wins, No DLC Drone

This final Championship Grand Prix in Judge Eyes (Judgement) is going to without a doubt, 100% drive a lot of people completely insane. In my opinion, this is the hardest minigame in the series in terms of completion, and could possibly be the hardest non self-imposed Yakuza challenge ever. I know Amon and other bosses can be difficult, but this minigame uses a VERY uncommon skillset and is unforgiving in many ways. It has this “feature” where your drone will automatically steer itself in certain situations, it’s very annoying and needs to go.

I highly recommend purchasing the skill that lets you perform a turbo start, and the skill that gives you 1HP of forgiveness if you were to otherwise break the drone during a race. The turbo is attained by pushing the throttle right when the 1 appears on the screen.

I recommend control method C. The left stick will be your height and yaw, the right stick will be throttle and rudder. So the left stick is how high you go, and turning. The right stick controls forward and reverse speed, as well as your strafing left and right. If you’ve ever flown a DJI Drone such as the Phantom and Mavic, this setting will make it fly just like those.

The DLC drones have a durability rating of 300, and the only non-DLC drone that will be fast enough to win this GP has a durability of 50. This gives the drone six times less health! By no means do you have to be perfect here, you can see some of my races were pretty sloppy but I was able to win. Keep in mind the course records also must be beaten to achieve 100% completion, and some of my races were not fast enough to unlock them. I recommend doing that using the test and tune function, if you make a big mistake you can just press the touchpad, and restart the race.

After you win a race, quit out and save your game. You can resume the GP whenever you like. If you mess up, you’ll have to quit out and reload which takes over 1 minute. So every time you have to reload, keep that in mind. I really recommend practicing the tricky sections, a single mistake can lead to others and drain the drones health bar very quickly. I have no idea why this development team hasn’t added RETRY CHECKPOINT, or in this case Retry Race. It would cut down on so much frustration. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if this gets patched to make it easier at some point.

It’s troubling that this game seems to have been designed in a way to steer players towards the DLC. The DLC drones as mentioned before have six times as much health, and cost about 3 dollars. This GP is required to unlock the 6th VR card. When you collect the 6 VR cards, you can play VR for free without using the tickets. It’s also required for 100% completion and the trophy if you’re looking for that.

Good luck!

  1. What setup did you use for this? I also need to check and see if I have the 'forgiveness' skill. I've gotten through the first two races so far, but crash a lot on the third one, gotta change my setup.

  2. I have problems on controlling speed of vehicles on EVERY games.
I am going to quit this challenge on the 4th level, even though I have the DLC drones.
I will try again if SEGA gives us a drone with unlimited durability.

  3. I’ve really enjoyed taking a peak at these videos when I can, since I don’t really have the money to import. How has this compared to the other Yakuza games? It honestly looks much better than 6 and Kiwami 2; I still enjoyed both of those games but they felt like missteps to me, ultimately.

  4. the master jimmy as always, sucks to hear that the best drone you can get has such awful durability without shelling out 3 bucks for a better drone. I don't think anyone other than completionists and other people that want to do all the drone racing stuff is going to probably get to this part so hard to say if it's going to cause enough of a stink for RGG studios to patch it to make it more forgiving. At least you can still win with skill unlike the pocket racer stuff where it doesn't matter if you have the best set up possible it all relies on whether or not your car will stay on the track or just fly off and nothing you can do about it
