  1. We will not multiply the power overnight, but let's start to think how to create games that use the processor in 100% instead of 30 …

I know more difficult for programmers, someone will say not possible but as the next consoles will have 16 threads, it will suddenly be possible …

  2. Most important quote on this video was about specs vs. value to the user. Example of blue-ray and early youtube. As a engineer I too feel that struggle and that is also where our Finnish trageny Nokia fell.

I just bought my first VR glasses, the new Oculus Rift S, as I felt that with the integrated sensors the technology is practical enough for me. But even more excited I am about the Guest and Go as those do not need the min. 1000€ gaming tower I happened to own already. Which means an upcoming explosion in quantity of artist and content as the other models are, I hope and think so at least, really appealing for the masses too.

  3. To the young generation this is thee John Carmack!!!! The one who created the first 3D game engine!!! He started it all not to mention he’s the father of doom and the FPS genre
This man deserves a noble prise

  4. Computing < Art. I am very amazed at how little modern VR relies on mathematics and physics and optics, and how much is invested in animation and art at every microsecond of experience. Sometimes I convince myself that I am sitting at a machine for weeks while the image updates and the next frame comes in, in some kind of temporal stasis, and wonder at how old and outdated my simple body has become. I am an artifact, and these machines have mothballed me.

  5. You guys are tripping. There was nothing annoying about how Level 4 talked; she brought up some interesting things.

  6. This guy isn’t great at explaining things to kids. The entire last 3 minutes of the first kid went right over his head…crickets the whole time

  7. Bells and whistle aside: Flying and connecting with one another or a self created semi-engaging avatar where our own magical thinking fills i the gaps will be the core elements driving the VR space. Powerful freedom of movement and the feeling of being paid total attention to. Unfortunately the human mind is so drawn to duplicity that for a person to allow their own unbridled man made identity to create another extension of "itself" turns VR into a denial trap with 2 locked doors. If we were given a Maserati to drive we would still be into building a Fredfintsone mobile even if it is a faaaarrrrrrr cry form our amazing human experience.
The human mind is such a wonderful thing, when information is imputed….its… never lost…..you simply need to know the right….place…to look…for…."IT".
