    Also, yes, this is theoretical – there are certain things that would mean we wouldn't QUITE reach the numbers suggested in the video, like the camera placement, but that doesn't change the point, or the fact that I DO think Smartphones should be thicker

  2. Lol. Instead of having a regular and a plus size. Why not companies just give us only one big size and 2 options of regular 4300 or so mah and another with like 6000mah. We dont mind the price difference if it means more battery life

  3. This was so on point for me – I bought a Pocophone simply because my OP3t no longer lasts a day. Sure I could just swap out the battery, but then it compromises on the water resistance that I was so thankful for when I dropped the thing in a tub of water! It's still as good as I want a phone to be.

  4. My thoughts as been same before s8 is launched,i always look after the iPhone SE's phone factor which is smaller and thicker.I am happy u had made video on this topic,I hope every mobile maker will look after on this issue, Thanks.

  5. That's why I always said that camera bump is a stupid idea.
    (Especially the one with big camera bulge and 1800ish mAh battery)
    Why not make the whole phone 1-2mm thicker so it could hide that ugly bump while gaining extra space for bigger battery.

  6. I wish modular devices were more popular so these issues you are bringing up would be remedied. Now a days it's all about lastest greatest . General Consumers need a different perception on mobile phones since it's being more intigrated more and more in life.

  7. There is way too many issue with that logic. Thermal temps are the biggest issue with potential battery temps going way too high as the motherboard you would be putting underneath would literally be transferring more heat than is safe for lithium ion. Also lithium ion batteries degrade, that's not something a manufacturer can stop. They can fork over tons of Research and development budget to slightly improve this, but that's not very marketable or noticeable. Also, you cannot stack the lithium ion like that even apples newest flagship puts the second battery underneath the original in a horizontal position because of this

  8. Nice thoughts thought but smartphone companies are already blind and deaf. Removing headphone jack like Apple does.. They just copy and paste.. Never put some innovative thoughts in designing the product.

  9. I totally agree with this concept and what you have said regarding the Smart Phone manufacturers having no incentive to increase the battery size in the manner you are suggesting. It would actually cost them more to do this if the phones were lasting considerably longer because their sales volume would drop over time for the new devices. The same is happening now in the Automotive Market as the 2017-2018 model year vehicles haven't moved off of dealer lots and they are trying to make room for the 2020 vehicles coming out. One of the reasons for this is vehicle reliability is improving overall along with less and less of the younger generation are even bothering with getting a license to drive. I have a suggestion for anyone who would like to collaborate on a solution to this. While my idea may not be totally new I don't really feel it's being utilized in a way that it could be. We have Smart Phones, we have Smart Phone Cases for protection. We all know the Smart Phone Cases add to not only the thickness but also the overall height and width of a Smart Device. Suppose that Case had a Battery built into it, as you had suggested with the extra thickness being the Battery Cell. The bottom of the case (most common place for USB placement) could have a 3.0 USB Connection that when attached to the phone, plugged into the phone and automatically added to the overall battery capacity of the device it was attached to. Would this be doable? Would it make sense to do it? Are there any drawbacks other than adding thickness and weight to the phone?

  10. I’d go for that I say, better it be small but thick which has a bigger battery than sexy that you have to charge twice a day and at that has a slow charge time..this would happen around 2030 probably?!

  11. They probably couldn't use the entire space that they gain from thickness for a bigger battery because of thermals. That whole space being filled by battery would probably get too hot, but yeah, even half of the extra space for more battery would be great.
