  1. Chinese companies, on behalf of the chinese government pricedump for a reason: they want to make other countries workforces uncompetitive so they dominate the market. Every $ spent on a chinese phone goes to china and is drained from your local economy.
I'm german and i wanted to buy a locally produced phone to support local workers and set my sign as a buyer that price (xiaomi, …) and brand image (Apple) isn't everything.
But i couldn't find any…gigaset only does end-assembly of chinese parts, fairphone produces in china, etc. Shameful for europe, outsourcing everything to china and making themselves dependant.

On the other hand this is great news for rwanda and africa. It's very nice to see rwanda producing value locally and boxstratting themselves towards attaining prosperity and stability. Us europeans need to start adjusting our attitude towards them, no longer merely a recipent of foreign aid but a trading partner.

Very nice. I think i will set my incentive here and buy one. I have to check if the LTE chip is supported in my region and big plus if the phone is rootable

  2. Yeah the price is a serious problem, compared with some Xiaomi phone especially tha can offer betters spec for 30% less, or others Chinese phone that have more Rom and Ram memory at half price.
But the only really good point for now is that they are made in Africa.

  3. Very exciting to see the first all African smartphones. I just learned about these phones and came to find a review, I have to agree with your criticisms. That said, I'm hopeful they'll build on this and create better and better phones. Thank you for the video and (a belated) happy birthday!
