  1. Weird 70s aesthetics of this game gave me the chills. It's a brilliant game alright. The best for Remedy since Max Payne 2 in my opinion.

Won't compare to other nominees. In my books nothing was better than Sekiro this year. (This is coming from someone who has never places other Soulsborne games so take it however you feel)

But man how stylish is Control! The colours the lighting the combat and the huge text that comes on your screen when you enter an area.

  2. Honestly though why is Ign still relevent. Control might push some of the boundaries of gaming but Death Stranding pushes them farther. I don't know why Ign can't see that by giving Death stranding a 6.8 and nominating control as game of the year.

  3. I just bought it a few days ago! Looks awesome! I’ll play it after Assassin’s Creed Odyssey which I bought too. Can’t wait ?

  4. They think this game is better than Sekiro, RE2, star wars, and Borderlands 3, how the F, people in there office must be baked outta there mind, or completely brain dead.

  5. Control is my runner up for the year and it is, for all intents and purposes, a brilliant game. It will probably be on sale around TGA because typically Sony and Microsoft run a sale for it, so it’s a must play for anyone interested in narrative driven games.

I do want to take a moment to appreciate another developer, which doesn’t get anywhere near enough recognition as they deserve – FromSoftware. Over the past decade they released a staggering number of titles ranging from great to absolutely phenomenal and they’ve never gotten recognised for their craft during the award season. Something tells me they won’t this year either. I would like to thank them for creating games that reinvigorated my love for the medium and, especially, Hidetaka Miyazaki for creating worlds that still invade my thoughts long after I finished the games.
