I check out the ProVolver from ProTube! The ProVolver adds recoil haptic feedback to virtual reality games on Oculus Quest and PC VR headsets. In this video I …

  1. A little annoying for all those games where you can dual wield, you will wanna buy a pair of them! These kind of things SHOULD be relatively cheap considering they're just add-ons, all the smart bits are already in the headset and controllers we've already forked our hard earned paychecks for…

  2. The delay seems like an instant deal/immersion breaker.
Too much time between the actual trigger press, the signal going out, the order to move the motor getting issued by the software, the order getting send back to the device, the motor getting the order, and then finally executing the movement for you to feel, it's just too much. It doesn't look like more than a moment, but it is SO off.

  3. It feels like a really nice accessory, but it makes me want to buy a forcetube with mag attachments even more. I need a gunstock for Onward.

  4. Will there be some better vr headset than the valve index this year? Can’t buy the index in my contry and I’m not buying any other out dated vr

  5. I would say that something like could be made DIY. It's nothing more than a solenoid which triggers when you pull the trigger switch on the controller. That works via Bluetooth. But should work with other options. Worst case you could open up your Quest controller and solder some wires to the trigger button and use that to trigger the solenoid. But there must be cleaner ways to do this.

  6. have you heard any updates abou pavlov release date for oculus store? last i heard they had to fix the party function. but it shouldnt take then 3 months. at least, i dont think so.

  7. You should do a video on VR with a surround sound setup (instead of headphones)

Also, I feel like recoil is a disadvantage, competitively. Probably fun as in single player though.

  8. It seems to me that the smartest and lightest way to make an accessory like this would be use the battery as the pulsating mass. Batteries already have the heft, adding more weight to counter the weight seems unnecessary.

  9. I would buy it for $200 for something like this…but whenever I see something cool and think of a reasonable price, it's normally 2~4x more expensive. I guess it would need a lot more support than a couple games to throw serious money at it. For now, great to see companies push VR more. If more people buy these accessories, maybe they'll come down in price when there are more consumers to buy stuff like this.

  10. I really want this, but also think it sounds a bit heavy and I'm assuming it'll attach awkwardly to the Index controllers so I'm somewhat skeptical. ? I do long for actual recoil, and I really like shooters, but I'm afraid of the jank. I wonder if we'll eventually see actual API support for haptic output like this, and not just for general controller rumble stuff. ?

  11. So given how this could turn you into a deadly weapon, Mike – does this mean that when introducing any "future" video's featuring this gun – you should now introduce yourself as :-

    I'm "OASIS…..VIRTUAL REALITY OASIS"  ;D

  12. Mike, how pair of controllers can be paired with the Quest? I'd rather have extra controllers, with sabers attached and another pair for shooting games… just wondering if there was a limitation or restriction or recommendation? Thanks.
