  1. I'm wondering if you still need to perform a fucking surgical operation to insert a battery, when your old one breaks – and faulty battery was, and still is, a huge issue in MotoG4
If anyone wants to know what I mean by that – check out this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a1rfMYnMoUI
you need to unscrew 19 tiny screws, heat up some elements, use hairdryer, use dentistical handles – absolute bullshit.

  2. I bought a Motorola G5..
I had so many problems with it..
So I brought it back and got a new one.. and I'm having nothing but problems with it… I've been a Motorola user for years..
I'm disgusted with the customer service the lack of rapport and then them telling me that they're going to send me a refurbished/ used phone when I purchased a brand new one..

    I used to love Motorola…
After dealing with customer service and crappy phones I'll never buy a Motorola again..

The service and warranty is just terrible along with a very lousy phone

  3. I just broke my G4, and I can't find one anywhere for a decent price to replace it. Looks like I'm going to have to downgrade to the ugly stupid grey flashy enormous-camera-on-the-back smaller screened G5. Fuck. I REALLY hate Motorola right now.

  4. I love the way these reviews can condescend a bigger screen almost like its a disadvantage. "The Moto G5 is easier to wield in the hand"…bollocks.

  5. OK, just started using this phone and typing this on it now. Volume is WAAAAAY lower than my Nokia lumia 635, viewing pics taken at 13mp look no way as clear and sharp? need to do a direct comparison yet so hope it's better on the laptop. Also being a big fan of Windows and pissed off at the lack of Windows phones now this is my first Android phone. First thoughts,,,,,HATE IT!!!. Google this Google that everything on this phone is linked to bloody Google. Navigation though the menus and apps is soooo simple and straight forward on Windows and Google isn't rammed down your neck. Once Microsoft bring out their new phoned (can't recall what the new system is being called) I can see me going back to that. I'll report back after more useage as I could be making a premature rant coz I've spat out my windows dummy.

  6. I've just bought a G5 (£142) as my first venture into Motorola after years of Nokia and Samsung. Anyhow after watching many reviews I would like to point out 1, There is NO metal on this phone, 2 There is No metal on this phone and 3, There is NO metal on this phone. The phone is grey plastic, it doesn't look or even feel like metal. The chrome coloured trim is chrome coloured plastic trim just like a VW badge on a steering wheel. I'd hate to drive a car built by these tech guys lol. Anyhow I've yet to use it as I don't have a nano sim only a micro sim.

  7. ok, so i'm using the moto g4 and i'll upgrade to the g5 soon. why? well it's simple. even though everyone is against the g5, it is better all-around than the g4. the sd430 may be slower than the 617 BUT 617 uses big.LITTLE tech. 4×1.52+4×1.21 and while 4 are active 4 are sleeping. and i personally prefer all 8 going at once despite any circumstances, and it isn't a big difference (8×1.4). Second is the gpu because a phone isn't only cpu and go? as much as anyone would want, sd430+adreno 505 will always be better than the 617+405 and with higher ram speed for the 430 (933Mhz oppose to 800 Mhz). Third reason is the screen and while is goes to 5 from 5.5 it is a newer screen and if you have both phones side by side you'll see the difference. And while at the screen, the g5 doesn't have the annoying glitch that g4 has that being ghost touch whenever charging (thumbs up from me). Last is the camera and even if it is the same as the g4 and smaller than the 4+, after playing for about 4 days i can say that it is something new. I don't know the type of sensor but the 13 on the g5 is the 16 of the 4+. Better all-around photos than the g4 especially in low light or my case, no light and on par with the laser 16 on the g4+. So if you have the g4+ then go to 5+ but if you have the regular g4 than the g5 (simple) is an update. Better camera with good low light quality, crisper screen without annoying me every 4 letters if i get a message while charging, better overall cpu+gpu and the metal on the back, fine, cold, solid. Yeah slippery, but way better to touch than the squeaky back plastic. And the size.. it is actually thinner but because of the small size you can't tell, and the bezels 1mm difference.

  8. I have the 2nd generation Motorola Moto G and it's time for me to upgrade. I'm a bit torn between the G4 PLUS and the G5 (not plus).

I like the G4 Plus' specs but I think it's too big for my tiny hands and obviously it's a year behind the G5, so I have no idea how outdated/laggy it would become if I got it NOW and had it for the next 2+ years.

I like the G5's size and it's newer, but I'm really not a fan of the way it looks and seems like a bit of a downgrade.

Any ideas which one I should get? Or should I just wait a year for the Moto G6 instead? I looked at other phones under £200 and they don't seem to be anywhere as good as the Moto G range… 🙁

  9. The screen size of the G4 was one of the only reasons that made upgrading from a G3 worthwhile. I don't know what they're thinking, they've created an inferior phone to the G4!
