  1. I feel it's high time that tech reviewers need to review how game engines run, like unreal engine 4 or unity, like the time it takes to compile high-res shaders and textures on these devices. Those programs are much more taxative than benchmark tests and photo editing tools. Almost all tech reviewers only review the photoshop editing speed and geekbench scores. 🙁

  2. i currently have a 2017 macbook pro 13 inch and im starting college late august should i upgrade to the m1 macbook air, wait till they announce another laptop which they usually do around sept and oct or just stay with my current laptop thoughts ?

  3. This is a little late from when you posted this, but I'm looking into this computer (M1 13" Macbookpro) and heard you mention Photoshop was not quite ready/compatible and would be next year (This year), Using rosetta at the time of video… Is the silicone app now ready for Photoshop? This is a big app I use frequently.

  4. the only iphone/ipad apps i use on the mac m1 now is apps for my smart home, actually is a sweet use for this, i no longer have to pick up my phone to change my lights and plugs and other things, also smart phone cam software like wyze works great on the m1

  5. I’ll give you this freebie, get an Intel MacBook Pro, top of the range and then do the following against an M1 MacBook. Use Davinci Resolve and do an export on both of exactly the same project, then while it’s exporting try and use other applications. You will see that the Intel completely grinds to a halt and that you can’t do anything else while it’s doing that but the M1 Mac you can carry on working away and being productive. I’ve done this in several different ways and applications in my 16 inch 2019 fully speced MacBook Pro grinds to a halt. This would make a very good video and truly show the power over and above just simple deep bench type stuff. With the M1 chip you do not need to walk away and let it run that you can carry on working.

  6. this video was super helpful, i’m a freshmen college student and i didn’t know if i should get a mac or pc but with the new m1 chip i’ve heard good reviews and this was very informative
