  1. I'll wait for more PvE content, I'm not really into PvP unless it's a shooter, I'll stick to ESO for now until the next xpac is out for GW2

  2. If you think this game for pvpers, you are wrong. There are so much they need to fix in pvp. If only MMO you play is ESO… you have not nearly enough exp. to judge what's a good MMO should be…
Played WoW, Rift, Vanguard: saga of heroes, Line Age II, Final Fantasy XIV, SWTOR, WildStar, GuildWars 1 and 2,Warhammer online, Planet Side 2, Tera, Aion, and more…
I'll tell you there are going in right direction but it's far far from ready… maybe even another year away from being ready.

  3. I have also been playing ESO on and off every other year. You mentioned the lack of end-game content, could you explain that a bit more? Are there sets based on class? L/M/H armor types? Monster sets, or something like it? Weapons with traits? Arenas, battlegrounds? Just wondering if you could draw a better comparison between the two games.

  4. I miss this game so much. 187hrs here and love it! I have played it all but for some reason this game calls me back.

    GOod review — very fair.

  5. This game has no content at all. Dungeons are terrible. All the quests are exactly the same. Thank steam for amazing refund policy! Just have to continue with TBC 😛

  6. Question, do you NEED to grind PvE content to level up/stay on par with the rest and to meaningful PvP? Or can you let's say get most of your exp/progression out of PvP?

  7. I played about 56 hours of New World Beta and was almost always solo doing PvE. Seeing what PvP looks like has me almost convinced to start trying it out!

I'm also pretty excited to see how much the game improves now that launch has been delayed again.

  8. Im still not sure if there are many guild out there at launch, will we all be able to play things like invasions or wars? Or will there be just a few hardcore guilds being able to sign up for this like in the beta?

  9. I restrained myself from playing because I didnt want to ruin it for myself to play it to a certain level and then play it all again. I spend most of my time logging or gathering because it was just so much fun and immersive. When you hear other people logging, mining, hunting and hearing shots from the distance its really really good. The rest I just explored the world and tested weapons.

I know many people say there is not much to it and so on but we are comparing a game that is about to release with something that has years and years of content added.

The only negatives I have is:
    – The combat is a bit lacking with only 3 skills per weapon with bad hitboxes on certain skills and the dodgeing feels akward
    – Unbalanced play styles with "tanks" living forever because they can heal themselves. Maybe they should consider making it somewhat like GW2 having an overarching class with specific spells + weapons they can use. For example a Paladin has one heal as a class ablity but they cant use a lifestaff and so on.
    – No mounts to have a better expierience travelling and have "a larger inventory" on the move
    – Factions are not balanced
    – Fear of p2w cash shop
    – Fear of the game being dumped because currently it looks like it because they take so much time fixing bugs and exploits. It seems like they dont have dedicated playtesters that search for bugs or exploits in their game and amazon has a reputation for dumping games quickly.

  10. I can't really articulate WHY I enjoyed the game so much, I just did. I haven't enjoyed an MMO this much since Guild Wars 2. I'm currently playing ESO but that's basically because there's nothing else worth playing on the market unless you want to drops hundreds of dollars every month in a Korean P2W mmo.

  11. I dont know about this gameâ€Ļ
So much money behind it but i dont see any vision in this.
It looks to me as the devs just do their job but theres no heart.
Even the pvp. Why is it only 50vs50. Open numbers would be much more fun. A top end 25 player guild should face off a 200 man mass invite guild. That was doable 20 years ago in games like daoc.
I dont think this will be a game to settle down for me. And i see it dying off rather quickly.

  12. Pvp is only hardcore when you can loot your kills, at least loot some stuff… that creates risk, they ditched hardcore for themepark pvp sadly. Go give mortal online 2 a go, thats what you call a uniqie hardcore pvp mmo in every aspect of the term.

  13. I'm afraid this is going to be another case of "something new" and not "something good". Playing through the beta, you saw copy pasta content in reskinned mobs and in most cases not even reskins just the same mobs over and over and over. Looking through the comments on these review videos, the general consensus is the game is "something new". But I frankly do not believe it will hold anyone's interest for very long. There's no real sense of progression…every weapon has the exact same basic and heavy attack to it from the moment you pick it up until the moment you capped the weapon out with no variation outside of 5 ish spells or abilities. These weapon abilities you unlock quickly and although you can upgrade or empower them with new effects, the visual effects don't change. I struggled with Guild Wars 2 because you had the same moveset throughout the game. I need variety and a solid sense of progression which you don't get in GW2 nor will you find it here in New World. You will see everything this game has to offer in a week or two of casual play. And that's not enough to hold onto people long term. There will be hardcore crafters who stick with it and hardcore PvPers who will also stick with it…but outside of these two sets of players, no one will stick with this game for longer than a month.

  14. Pvp content and having actual enemies u wish to overcome is lacking in this game… thats most important thing for me

  15. It looks cheap , and like something from over a decade ago. The graphics are lackluster, the animations look meh, and just the general impression I get is not good. It reminds me of that time about 10 years ago when there were tons of mmo's being released and all of them looked very similar. I really wanted this to be good. Just add it to the pile of disappointment.

  16. I'm sure it has been said and maybe he said it in the video later but this is a start of the video comment but the game has been pushed back to September 28.

  17. I played ~60 hours in beta. The combat is a tad simplistic, but it's OK overall – acceptable, but not exceptional. I enjoyed the crafting and think they did a solid job with that system. The dungeons are subpar, the PvP that I experienced fun enough to want to play again and dive deeper upon release. I don't have a lot of expectations for the game. I just hope it can hold my attention at least until Lost Ark NA releases. If so, I will be satisfied. If it does more than that, it will have exceeded my expectations. In general, I feel like this is a slightly above average MMO with some solid systems in place.

  18. Probably gonna wait a while after release to try, haven't really seen much that makes me feel I need to buy ASAP

  19. The ESO "chaos" feeling of PVP and PVE turns me off. I know WoW is chaotic, but I think it's the combination of too-good graphics and close up camera that make this feel too overwhelming…

  20. didnt play the closed beta – from an outside view it looks like a mash up of rift and guild wars – sadly I think that rather than be the 'must play' game I was hoping for, its a wait and see if it survives the first 6 months

    fingers crossed

  21. Right now, i feel like playing it just for the landscape and exploration. But id would love it if they add more roleplay feature such as making your own farm and much more. Literally an mmo dream where you can do tons of things. Games on top of games.
