  1. i think that the folding phones are catching up to the normal phones features pretty fast and i am certain that it will replace our existing phone caus its boring already and we need something new and i think that the folding phones are going to be it.

  2. What I got for all my cases – xiaomi freefinger, a leather band that would function as stand/phone grip. Offsets the problem of the candy bar mode.

  3. I already have a good tablet. I can see the Fold 3 as a super premium Christmas or bday present for someone who happens to need an upgrade and doesn't already own a tablet

  4. I want to believe, but this ain't it, chief.

The narrow external screen, the (STILL) prominent crease, the weird internal camera (Is the hole punch really so offensive?), the hinge gap when closed, the battery, the price… That's too many cons for its one pro (being a big foldy phablet).

Make the external screen at least the size of the flagship, figure out that godforsaken crease, just use a holepunch until you can do a real under-display camera, make it close all the way, fit a battery at least 1.5x capacity of the flagship in there, and get it under $1500… Then I'll take it seriously. Maybe in a couple of years.

  5. If you order from Samsung, there is $200-300 worth of gift certificates for free accessories (10-30% off). So you can order the S-Pens (both the Fold Edition and the Pro), a case, and some power bricks. Curse NYS and CA for the nearly 10% sales tax on a $1800 superphone.

Look for a future rollable big screen phone from LG and Samsung coming in the future, similar to the Oppo X. This rollable form factor might replace foldables in a few years.

Hopefully, Samsung will merge the Galaxy S2x Ultra with the Note 2x Ultra designs to be released in the March timeframe. The S-Pen could still be held using a special case. Making the S-Pen storable internally…forces it to be too small for adults hands. MKB has huge hands and the S-Pen Pro is probably a welcome upgrade.

  6. I still reckon Huawei X2 got the upper hand on build and design and quality, though the lack of Google play services is a huge con, no doubt about that from a western standpoint, even my old driver from 2015 Huawei P8Max 6.8" (16:9) have got a hard update that removed all that and you had no choice in the matter…
but X2 or Fold3 are both way too expensive for what I'm willing to throw after a mobile phone but I am definitely down with the screen real estate and hope more vendors will jump on board.

  7. Me: screw you, Samsung. No note phone for us nerdy contractors. I don't want a folding phone it will be broken in a month.

  8. I wonder if they can just combine the glass and plastic together, the only plastic was the crease the rest are Glass. So the only weak part now is the crease part but the rest of the screen is tough since it's a glass.

  9. I like where Samsung is going with the Zfold but it’s not a product that is going to replace my normal day to day phone it’s just not there yet.

  10. Xiaomi implementation of UPC is so much more better than Samsung’s. I think samsung can do better and make the display on top of the camera a lot more pixel dense and improve it next year. Optimization is key and samsung needs to work better with google and move this category of phones forward if this needs to be mass adopted
