  1. I wish reviewers would do videos acknowledging the damage that Apple has done to the smartphone world. The trends they've started that in reality is only about making money. I love smartphones and it used to be a thing I loved to follow and watch what companies new innovations have come out with. Now it's just Apple taking away features and the other companies following what Apple gets away with. Now that LG is gone there won't be anymore SD card slots on flagships and hifi DACs and all the crazy and sometimes ingenious innovation they had. This has become a very boring and sad part of what I used to love about smartphones. IMO Apple is responsible for being the biggest killer of innovation in this thing I used to love. iPhones are a one trick pony with cameras and that's it. There's no real innovation nothing new or exciting. Watch any iPhone video and the first half is the reviewer talking about the colours. That's it?..

  2. I got my hands on the 13 Pro today and I'm not impressed. It's a little heavy for my preference and that giant notch is still there! Why??? Every flagship Android has a punch hole but the iPhone 13 still has a notch? And the camera lens kit protrudes HALF the overall thickness of the phone itself. That's annoying, too. And the battery life got a nice upgrade but this is something Android phones had for a few years already. The same applies to 120hz. Apple is only playing catch-up at this point.

I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max as my personal phone and the Galaxy S21+ 5G as my work phone. Over the past 7 years my company has phased out iPad for Surface Pro. Now they're phasing out iPhone for Galaxy. MacBooks were swapped for Surface Laptop a few years ago. Apple continues to under-deliver with every new major release. I really don't think the 13 is that great for personal or professional use.

My wife and kids left the Apple ecosystem a few years ago, and I'll be doing the same in 2022. If you're like me and upgrade your desktop, laptop, tablet, and phone every year, you'll appreciate the overall cost savings (which is significant), and you'll realize the benefits of a mixed Android/Windows ecosystem. But most Apple fanboys (myself included) don't easily admit the superiority of other ecosystems. Apple has lost its edge, unfortunately.

  3. coming from the X so far I hate the 13 design. the phone rests on the lens edge when you put it down, the lenses are super bulky and stick out far, the metal squared off edges feel like a big step backward compares to the smooth curves of the X, looks horrible in pants pocket (men) it is way heavier. Portrait mode is better but still like 5 years ago samsung (the edges of the 'in focus' content are blurred, better than X on snapping into focus for portrait mode but still has a narrow range of distance where it works). Got the magsafe charger mount for car but it's kind of worthless in that I still have to plug it in to get car play. WHen using magsafe at home, phone gets really hot. Icons on top of screen (battery etc) are jumbled with app icons (like in IG) probabluy while they figure that out, and the black cutout top middle of screen hides content (like on an IG story – end of username and when posted, etc as clipping rounded edges. Wish I had just got the 11 when it came out and wait for them to do a new generation that's better.

  4. I've had a chance to play with the Pro Max the other day and all that I can say is – "I want the iPhone again after many years since I've transitioned to an Android"… The phone is freaking awesome. Although I've used Android phones with 120 Hz refresh rate, iPhone's True motion screen is incredible… Also, the next thing that I was astounded by and that almost made me take out and max out my credit card, is this new "cinematic mode". You could easily mistake a small video clip shot on the Pro Max with a preview teaser for the new Avengers blockbuster…. Call me impressed, because I f**** am.

  5. 0:16 iPhones have NEVER felt sluggish or slow due to the lack of a ProMotion screen, and I’ve owned most models, including my 12 Pro Max. You clearly don’t know what you’re talking about.

  6. I was upgrading to a 13 pro from the 12 pro max but I ended up returning the 13 pro. The upgrades are really nice and I thought I would try to save some money and get a little bit more storage by getting the smaller 13 pro but it’s super hard to downsize from the 6.7 inch screen to even the 6.1 inch screen like I thought I would be able to.

I’m also concerned about reports that there are slower data speeds with the 13 pro compared with the 12 pro. Anyways, a warning for those who go from a max edition to the regular pro edition who want to save some money – just be aware that the smaller screen and text will take a little bit to adjust to again.

At this point I might wait a year or two to upgrade. The 12 pro max is still an awesome phone and has years left in the tank

  7. 120Hz on phones is SO heavily overrated 🤦🏻‍♂️
Seriously, if you have a 11 Pro or newer, don't even think about upgrading… especially not "for ProMotion alone". That's nonsense.

Just like the other features – ProMotion will not "define your experience" with the phone. Most people will just forget they use a 120Hz screen like MINUTES after they got it…
