  1. But that wrong way to calculate right 50k is exception apart from that is tax calculated eg 58k 50k is exception and remaining 8k on that 38% tax is applied

  2. I was charged β‚Ή890 in customs by UPS courier for a 2 TB Harddisk that was given to me for free by Seagate πŸ˜‚ I have no idea about the actual price of the harddrive, and the β‚Ή890 probably includes commision of UPS too.

  3. Can someone please help with this?
My invoice for pixel 6 says $638. that's under 50k. so am I good? does the limit of 50k applies to the total amount of things one can bring or on per item basis? I'm getting it from USA and they will have an iPhone and Pixel 6 with them.

  4. Clarification:
GST / IGST to be specific is not applicable under Baggage rule where maximum tax rate is 38.5%
So people commenting 18% or 28% GST on top of 38.5% is absolutely wrong. Baggage specifically gives GST exemption.

  5. Custom charges can be avoided if we unbox the phone and carry it with ourselves, i watched many videos on YouTube of people who brought their iPhones this way and avoided custom charges completely

  6. @Geekyranjjit 2:26 It clearly says that is in excess of duty free allowance, so instead of charing on 53K they will charge custom duty on 53K – 50K, so just 38.5 % of 3K comes about 1K.
