  1. Directly follows the events of Devil May Cry 4 (2008) rather than the series reboot, DmC: Devil May Cry (2013).

The three pet demons V uses in combat are all based on "boss" characters from the first Devil May Cry game.

Dante's appearance in this game is almost a blend of previous entries. For example, the distinct red coat which is one of the most iconic things about the character ever since the original, the facial hair / stubble as with his appearance in Devil May Cry 4, and a slight more black than usual (Dante wears a black t-shirt that is visible throughout the game) similar to his nearly all black appearance in Devil May Cry 2.

Game is set after Devil May Cry 2 (2003) and Devil May Cry 4 (2008).

V's demon pet Shadow was a boss character in the first Devil May Cry.

Uses the RE Engine, the same game engine used for Resident Evil VII: Biohazard (2017) and the 2019 remake of Resident Evil 2 (1998).

This is the first time the developers have went with a cinematic approach and using real life models for motion capture. Even though going with this method the developing team guaranteed that it would not hinder the classic stylish gameplay.

  2. It's so great to see a single player game with an excellent combat system being praised that isn't bogged down by shitty scripting, cameras and walking segments just for the sake of being "art". I'm looking at you GOW.

  3. Props to the reviewer for giving this game the credit it deserves. One of in a group of gifted IGN reviewers that actually know how to play a video game.

  4. Im really happy people liked this game, dmc 3 was one of my favourite games. But… is nobody going to talk about the level design being kind of weak in this particular game?

  5. Honest review from me : This game rocks and its much polished version than the other DMC games but it came and went very fast which was not right felt like they could have done some changes to the game play for example Dante felt like Dante but his weapons and moves felt like all the same you could kill the enemy with the sword and you could also kill the enemy with the gun all felt like same I enjoyed different animation moves but the hit damage were all the same they could have made this improved if you could use particular weapon for a particular enemy playing as trickster ,royal guard, gunslinger, swordmaster felt easy you could kill all the enemy with just sword master and never felt like using the other styles since the enemy were not that hard, all the animation for Dante Nero and V were great but I wanted to play more and wanted to know more and since V does not fight much by himself he could be used as different style of gameplay like detective mode for him. As I was getting hyped by all this energy with music and combat and story ,it felt like a short game I know its rude to say but the story was predictable over all I give this game 9/10 for character creation 9.5/10 for style 8.5/10 for animation 8/10 for story.

  6. I just finished it on gamepass, the game is amazing but I'd like to have the option of choosing any of the 3 characters or at least 2, dante is still my favorite, Nero is not bad but v just kills the pace for me.
