Some kentuckians fought in this war but a lot of us kentuckians fought for the south in big cities but in small cities they fought for the north
You won't be loading your musket you would have guns already loaded probably at least 3 per person there would be people reloading the guns.
There's no way you could obtain position and not be overwhelmed if you were just loading one gun
