  1. We desperately need a good UI in real life showing all your vital info and stuff. That could easily prolong everyone's lives and save so much money on healthcare. It's a shame that its gonna be product mostly for the richest half of the humanity for so much longer before the technology makes its way all the way down.

  2. I think I'd rather use what the apache pilots use that do the same thing really…a glass reticle that comes down over your eye….safer.

  3. So this is cool but what worries me is when it breaks…short circuits or the battery is bad and "leaks" or creates a power surge or whatever happens when it doesn't work correctly….does it damage the eye? Do you get a new eyeball as part of the warranty?

  4. Sadly, I wouldn't be able to use these as my eyes are far too sensitive. I can't even wear normal contacts due to irritation. The thought of these though is damn mind boggling.

  5. I don’t believe this is real. I want to see a real 3rd party human wearing it and describing what they see.

  6. I use contact lenses and I don’t like the way they feel now! Imagine lenses with microchips and all of the electronics required here.

It would be impossible to wear comfortably so how are they going to get past this very basic aspect of wearing lenses? This all sounds really great in theory but I cannot see how this can work and become a mainstream product.
I think they future is in glasses. Let’s see if Apple gets it right.

  7. I wouldn want my eyes to do things that are biologically impossible like controlling technology by looking at it and and being able to identify what things are by looking at it (like the exact species of an animal or type of material) cus that would be cool

  8. I can't remember how many years I repeatedly heard that video contact lenses are about to become a thing. I only believe it until there is a working prototype for the public.

  9. Imagine you're just in the park sitting silently watching the greenery and observing the kids play when you get a 60 second ad, 'ugh' you think, you try to skip it and find out it's unskippable, you are annoyed but are not gonna stand down, petty revenge is still revenge, right? You closer your eyes and holy fuck it's still playing . The experience is extremely unnerving and leaves your uncontrollably stressed out because you are used to seeing absolutely nothing after closing your eyes but you pull through, after a very grueling 60 seconds that felt more like 60 minutes and left you very much on edge, another 60 second ad plays right after it…

You unthinkingly push two fingers into your eyes, now you are seeing red, but there are no ads, nice.

  10. Walking around in like the city with like a path on the ground on how to get to say a coffee shop, That would be incredible!

  11. fuck this sounds sick, truly enhancing humans with tech. shit like robo prosthetics and 'organ helpers' like pacemakers and the diabetes things exist which is great though could be more mature – just, the idea of upgrading your entire human body to be perfectly enhanced (and not to mention immortal!!!) is so fucking cool, and helpful and innovate for the human species – perhaps mainly because living to like 500 years healthily means people can be SO much more specialised and intelligent and shit, and having robotic parts so you still remain fit and agile even at 100 is fucking indiscribably great. Fixing the largest, most significant, and important, and influential issue in life; death!

  12. I don't want to be that guy, but you probably want to reset your expectations. This is going to be very rough for the first few iterations. I wouldn't expect too much from the display, and small gyros and magnetometers are notorious for low quality tracking.

  13. I can't think of a better word than WOW. Wow? The world needs a new word to adequately describe these, wow indeed.

  14. “contact lenses for VR”
You should have said AR because the FOV and green monochrome display of the Mojo is not nearly enough to call this a virtual reality device.

  16. It reminds me of a Black Mirror story where people wore a contact lense to let the authorities 'see' what they see and control what news they see.

  17. You guys ever look around and realize. Were living in the future? Like holy sh*t younger me would have lost his mind hearing of tech like this in my child hood. Im an adult now and seeing all this stuff while partly kinda casual another way im blown away. Like if you told 8 year old me that in the future will have smart home robots and house assistance and AI robots to just casually talk to like a real person in my life time, id loose my mind. These vr tecks to be transported into your favorite child hood video game is still baffling to me. Its crazy to think that things CAN and WILL just get better and better faster and sooner as my life goes on. Im hyped to see what humans are capable of
