My Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra just failed the drop test

A one-meter fall was all it took… It started when I felt a tiny ridge – an imperfection – on the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra’s perfect …

  1. Maybe a better case or I'm not an engineer, but I'm guessing as phone screens get or have become larger. The tension on the screen is higher so it's easier to break. Anyway, that's my thinking.

  2. It's not too late to sign up for Samsung Care, report it a month from now, and get it repaired for $29 😉

  3. Yup! That sounds about right, Gorilla Glass victus is a joke! I had my Sky Blue S22 Ultra for barely a Day and it has scuff Marks on the Display!

  4. First thing I always do before starting to use a new phone is get a screen protector to avoid scratching the screen cause that really increases the probability of cracking the screen. Im proud to say that after owning over 8 phones in the past 5 years I’ve never cracked a screen.

  5. If you get the screen replaced it will be inferior to the panel you currently have. I've have had phone screens replaced a couple of times by samsung and the screens are not calibrated properly like the first phone you get. Samsung are known for it. Sometimes the contrast is set too high and the display has low or no brightness and the colours are wrong when a screen by samsung is replaced. Some people may not care but to me if a screen is not calibrated like the first screen i can't use it!

  6. Got s22 ultra, drop it a few times but since i had a case it is all fine, phone is a bit heavy so if you don't have adequate protection it would really break… But overall i'm satisfied

  7. I fail to understand the curved displays, really form over function as some people really prefer aesthetics over functionality. No idea why Samsung gives us a lovely flat S22+ and a nasty curved S22U especially as the latter has s-pen support? Well it is a design flaw as it makes the display significantly more fragile if the phone falls on the wrong place. I feel that most Android flagships are following this trend and it is a shame, maybe that is another reason iPhones are selling well? The curved displays also hamper screen protectors and image quality at the edges. Really they should be banned and lets get back to the simple flat display that just works well.

  8. Same with my S21 FE. It fell from a table that's 2-3ft above laminated flooring…why in the world it has a chip on the screen from a fall like that is beyond me. Incredibly irritated at their ineptitude at how these things are designed now.
