  1. Did someone tell this Fruit company that most carriers take 1 billing cycle i.e. 28 days before making a change in the eSim? This fruit company wastes time, resources, and money just to gain the BS status symbol while removing features.

  2. It's not a controversy. It's an esim man, and it's the US models only, and I've been using esim for years. It's simple, you just control everything online at the carrier?
I do not understand all the whiners? If you do travel, and esim doesn't work for you, shut it, and don't buy it. I mean, right?

  3. For traveling I use Airalo, their app works great never had an issue with esim using them.
Very cheap and convenient and I travel 4-6 months out of the year overseas.

  4. I only used a e-sim for the past 3 years and I never had any issues. I actually find it useful because the e-sim is locked on your iCloud account so when you log into a new iPhone is asking you all the time if you wanna switch your number to the new device

  5. They are definitely not saving space for anything because iphone 14's from all other countries still have the sim tray and the specs are not affected. They still have the same stuff inside.

  6. As a certified apple specialist I can confirm that configuring SMC is no simple task. That aside, their abandonment of people that travel and often need to change carriers must be costing Apple less of a loss than that what AT&T is paying Apple to force us all to stay tethered under their watch 24/7/365.

  7. So glad the iPhone 14 r still got sim tray in the uk cause I’m with Three sim contract and they r one of the four big sim company’s and they don’t even offer Esim yet

  8. Phone Carriers are solidifying their control on the Customers using E-SiM to where the traditional unlock method is blocked due to their software wall on the E-SIM it's already bad enough we pay $100+ for Poor LTE Connectivity. Dnt get me started on 5G. Apple needs to stop this NOW b4 it's becomes a thing. This should have never be changed. We already pissed that theirs no Micro SD card slot yet Galaxy's have been destroying Apple in this department

  9. You know what’s odd – maybe twice a year, my phone loses service/internet randomly and the only way to fix it is to remove the SIM card and put it back in. Not even restarting the phone fixes it. That’s probably my primary concern.

  10. Wait….Can't one just…say…request a physical SIM in addition to the eSIM? As in, you can keep it in your wallet or glove box or wherever you might want it?

  11. If this is the future we are heading, simplification to this crap is to give the option to buy for A sim tray phone. Why not hustle more money, 50 bucks extra if you want to have a sim tray phone or go with esim if you like the new direction.

  12. Yeah that's a big issue if you phone breaks down or malfunctions but it's like when people used to think without wire involved, people will be loosing AirPods left, right and centre. But Air Pod came to be the most popular headphone in the world, so will be the case with eSIM. Modern smartphones will not break down on you, and you won't think about malfunctioning just like you don't think about wirelessness of Air Pods

  13. Who needs a burner phone and what are you doing…?
    Slippery slope, what’s next?
Quick answer is maybe me if I want, and I’ll do whatever I dang well please with it.
IF I break a law, THEN consequences
Until then There will ALWAYS be a market for prepaid ‘burner’ phones that are completely legit.
I COULD give plenty of examples, if anyone wants them.
Big brother wants to watch the people who can afford 1-2k for a phone not 50.00.

  14. Don’t tell anyone this but I know someone that works high in Apple – the reason the sim tray was removed because Apple is working on their own phone plan and it’s going to be a little bit cheaper then other plans and once you buy an iPhone you can buy the plan with it – smart move by Apple in my opinion – Apple ecosystem

  15. People are gravitating less mobility and less and thinner is because they're not educated I mean I'm not going to buy anything I don't care how good it is even if a white my butt if I can't customize it and upgrade it a laptop a laptop or you can't upgrade an SSD or even a computer itself or a hard drive isn't a laptop it's called junk because all it's going to be is if that drive dies and the rest of the computer is still good junk and it's going to take a very special somebody to be able to make it not junk that 99.9% of people can't fix so it's stupid and this is talk about polluting our world look at this stuff right here anybody who buys anything that's not upgradable it's ridiculous I understand but at least have the RAM and the SSDs upgradable and the hard drives anything else I understand but seriously it's just ridiculous

  16. Still rocking with my 13 mini. Went from an 11 pro max to a 13 mini and I love it. Wish they still made mini versions. I got the mini bc I knew I was on my phone too much. The mini incentivizes me to actually use my iPhone, vs just play on it.

  17. One of the biggest advantages of an Iphone is their longetivity. To put in perspective, I knew people that were still using their Iphones 8 or 9 just because they do not have the money. After they got a better Iphone, they gave them to someone of their family and the Iphone was working fine. At some moment they will need to change, obviously, but, as an Android user, that longetivity is admirable. I doubt the esim will allow that.

  18. I'm not a fan of the E Sim thing, at all. Same with the removal of expandable storage on any smartphone. My Note 20 Ultra allows for 1TB storage, it has a Sim card slot, and I believe an E Sim cause I know many phones have the capability but I don't use that. Also really not a fan of that GPS anywhere at all times without service thing, cause they can find you anywhere if needed, no thanks.
