  1. My system has started stuttering and freezing or taking a really long time to load things. I totally factory restored it and it has the same issue. I think it's the HD. Will replacing it solve my problem? Or is there another thing that may need to be replaced?

  2. Did everything you guys told me in the video. Ended up with a no signal screen and the screen wont come even in safe mode… thanks for breaking my ps!

  3. what if i plug in both the new and old hdd to my pc via a SATA-to-USB connector & copy all the files from my new hdd to the old one? Would that not work?

  4. All done. Did not have a external hard drive to save my data. I went on playstation store and reinstalled my games. I did not start any new games and had completed the ones I had. The update works straight away from the usb and the ps4 did not go into safe mode. Thanks a lot Tech Radar. Happy Gaming.

  5. You clicked the wrong update I thought you are supposed to go all the way down and download the big 900 MB update for a total restore?

  6. Is seagate a reliable internal hard drive for my ps4?? I've heard stories about them over heating. Has anyone had one of these hard drives and had a good experience with it?? thinking of buying a 2TB one but not sure as it's a lot of money!

  7. For anyone that plans on doing this. A major factor of replacing your PS4 hard drive with a new one is that if you have any warranty on your PS4 and you replace the hard drive, the warranty on your PS4 will automatically expire as soon as you put in the new hard drive. Meaning your PS4 won't be insured, so if any internal issues occur with your PS4 after you put in the new hard drive, you won't be able to get it replaced. Make sure to buy from trusted stores or websites. I was only told about this from an employee in a game store today. Thought I'd share it with anyone because I thought it was important to know, especially for people that are looking to replace their hard drives

  8. Can I skip the backup part? I don't have a 500gb external storage, so another method I'm thinking is instead of backing my applications onto an external hard drive, I can just use a USB to store my saved data onto as well as download the latest PS4 software on. Then I can put the new hard drive in, plug my USB into the PS4 and download the saved data and PS4 software onto the new hard drive. Once that's done, I can go to install all my games again. I know this may be a longer way but I don't have an external hard drive so it's my only way. Can someone who knows about this or done this before just double check my method and reply back? Can you also tell me if I will still have all my progress from games? I think this method should work properly but I just wanna make sure I'm not missing anything. Anyone that replies would be be really appreciated. Thank you

  9. To everyone who plans on doing this, if you are planning on installing a 2 TB HDD Hard drive when trying to install the system update onto the ps4 in the flash drive. Please make sure it's the 800 MB file, the format for it is in FAT32 for the file system, and to put the update file into two folders, named PS4 and UPDATE. Like this PS4 -> UPDATE -> PS4UPDATE.PUP

  10. can I used a 500gb external hard drive to back up my stuff? my current 500gb is almost full and I'm ready to switch for a much bigger one.

  13. is there any recommendations for 2 tb 2.5 inch? seagate owns the market on this but my concern is that after looking up reviews their failure rate is insane with almost 10% for s ok me of their drives.

  14. I own the SW Battlefront Vader Edition. Will the 1TB hard drive used and process be the same? Or preferably will a 2TB work using these same steps?
