I took my 3 year old PS5 apart yesterday because it's had 2 thermal shutdowns in the last week (it's almost winter) and the heatsink was clogged with dust. Although fans like this might help prevent this from happening for a bit longer and possibly prolong the lifespan of a PS5, a thourough internal cleaning will keep it working a lot longer.

PS5 overheats only because liquid thermal paste dried up, you have to open console up and fix try spot.
