29. Been playing since Mega Drive / Genesis days, and nobody can deny that Sonic was great then (so IGN was wrong). You could prefer Mario or Yoshi, but to be intellectually honest you'd admit the Sonic franchise has to be among the top 5 platformers ever.

    But let's also be honest and admit that 3D Sonic has not lived up to the excellence of its 2D roots and scaled the heights that 3D Mario has achieved.
