  1. let's be honest with an example. you are filming this video in a Tesla. One of the most iconic battles happened in 2011. Jeremy Clarkson reviewed Tesla roadster back then and he buried it, making Elon Musk to sue him for defamation and he lost the case. Did Tesla die from the bad review? Well the answer is in the second sentence 13 years later.

When someone goes in the market with a product costing almost the same as a fully proven smartphone or in European terms a monthly rent (not even including the monthly subscription), he better made a strong case for himself. On the side of the reviewer, do we need to mention the case of Linus and his downfall after he lost his credibility?

  2. You do come off like the angel of death for these startups, let's be real.
A headline carries a lot of weight, more so than the article or video inside. Millions of people will scroll past it, and even if they don't click, they'll read "THIS IS THE WORST—" and from that moment on, will have a negative impression of the product in question. I know it's a nice, juicy, clickbaity title to use, but calling things "the worst" carries a lot of weight. It's bad enough the legacy media uses this tactic on everything, but seeing youtubers do it, seems a bit forced, and disappointing. Unless you truly, truly believe that car, and this AI pin thing, are the worst things ever made, which I doubt.

  3. There is no way the companies releasing the products did not know all the things wrong with their products and they still released it. Hoping reviewers won’t catch them or will ignore them? That’s the job of a reviewer, to find and talk about every possible use case of the product.

  4. Anyone with a reputation that publicly was upset by you reviewing this product negatively definitely either has shares in this product or has shares in some form of AI or some investment in AI.

  5. Tesla is a great example in that all I ever heard was people complaining about that company and its cars for the first 10 years and it thrived regardless.

  6. A bad review from an 'ordinary' user doesn't kill any company; one might expect not a bad review from a YouTuber with millions of followers, but a constructive review. My 2 cents.

  7. Criticism drive innovation, if a compagny wasnt critical enough of itself before launching a product, that's their responsibility. Not yours to tip toe around it. And sincere and honest reviews help get trust, if you care about your reputation, it's in your best interest to keep doing that.

  8. This channel (and all MKB channels, including Auto Focus) does not make clickbait videos or titles. So when I see a title from one of those channels say it is the 'worst' of anything Marques has reviewed, I'm watching it. And I'm certainly not buying that product. With that said, I'm sure I wouldn't have bought the product regardless since I would watch a ton of other reviews that likely have similar conclusions. So yeah, bad products kill companies, not bad reviews. Bad reviews from credible sources actually inform the audience.

  9. Thank you, Mr. Brownlee for being honest. Sometimes I wonder if you get a payout to do certain product reviews and if you do; I love that you give both the pros and cons and give a full honest breakdown. I love your first video you released when you were young, it just shows your heart is in it! Thanks again for the greatly informative content!

  10. I came out of the HUMANE review video thinking their product was a really cool idea that needs some iterations but could possibly be a disruptive device. I think they are onto something and they just need to make it better. I hope they don't go anywhere.

  11. Question is if the review is accurate. Oftentimes it's not, especially with LTT. I feel your reviews are more accurate, but this comment section needs some more varied responses.

  12. A lot of people straight up don’t look up or even watch reviews like us YouTube addicted weirdos. The internet blows everything out of proportion 🤷🏻‍♂️

  13. I'm one of the viewers that just watch to check out new tech. I may not even want any of the items, or already have them even, but still find the content interesting and informative. And I believe this is mostly because it is actually honest reviews and sharing your experiences and what you've observed using these products. Thanks for that btw. Keep up the good work 🙂

  14. how fragile would your business have to be if one bad review could cause your business to completely fall apart, it sounds more like an internal issue than an external one. it shouldn't be your duty as a large creator to give positive reviews to terrible products to keep a company afloat, companies should just make businesses based on making products people will enjoy

  15. Moral of the story: Good products get good reviews, and bad products get bad reviews. From a PURCHASER standpoint, I think a "bad" review, is still a good review. I don't want to be lied to in a video that reviews the product in a positive light when there are real issues at hand.

  16. "The dude didn't even have to make this video. Why defend his hard and honest work? He has never been one to bad-talk anything without extremely valid points. If anything, that's the criticism (actual criticism) that we should want as feedback for any product."
