ICE/Bakkt is a 10 ton gorilla that just stepped into the crypto space.
Starting with a physically settled bitcoin futures contract. Bakkt is going to be a big player in the physical and custody of Bitcoin.
Ice is the owner of the New York Stock Exchange they usually don’t deal with retail customers and individuals. Interesting that they’re getting into retail payments.

The biggest risk is the ETH, ETH classic chain split. If the fork goes to the new chain and you were naked short the old chain you didn’t get the coins because you were naked short and you aren’t entitled to receive the new coins. A permanent fork to a new chain would be devastating to an institution. If the chain forks and you’re naked short the institution could literally go bust.
Hope the SEC looks very close at these issues.

Understand the idea related to CNBC but even a clock is twice 2 times a day/night. Bakkt seems to have some real potential if they let mainstream invest and they are using real BTC to do so. Look interesting and could pave the way for others as well.
