I know you say, “if you do not hold it, you don’t own it”. That may be true, but certain risks come along with that. I may hold a percentage of my crypto in a wallet.
But I take the small risk with an exchange, to reduce another risk of a downturn.
Although you may not consider it a true exchange. I use Bitmex which is more like betting on
The crypto market. I deposit Bitcoin and then I pick a level below which I want to
Insure myself against a Bitcoin turndown. Above that level, I may do nothing, just let my Bitcoin increase in value. BUT if bitcoin drops below that level and automatic bet against bitcoin goes in, to offset any loses, if price goes up the bet comes off.
It is like insurance against losing value. Very simple strategy.
Bitcoin goes up, I make value, if it goes down, it goes neutral.
Then I do not make money, but neither do I lose any value.
This way I do not have to be constantly worrying if bitcoin is going through the floor.
Plus, Bitmex trading should have no effect on Bitcoin prices, since we are not
actually, trading Bitcoins. So, a lot of people shorting should not push prices down.
Perhaps I should mention that I do not rely on Exchange buy sell triggers,
But use an automated trading system. That way a momentary spike it price is not always
