This is a quick preview of the Inaugural MIDRT – Essentially a Drone Racing Tournament for the Armed forces, which included Army, Navy, Airforce and Defence Contractors from all over the world. We were invited as guests of the Australian Army.
There will be a full video on this event once we get back from Shenzhen and then the Aussie Nationals, but this should serve as a good sneak peek at the event.
All in all an amazingly successful event which really gives credibility to the sport of drone racing and showcased some of the best drone races in the Military.
The event was run by FPVR.org and featured Joe Scully as the race director/announcer ?
Included a run by Thomas in one of the qualifying sessions. He wasn’t entered in the event for obvious reasons, but the Organisers recognised he needed to still train during this time so they let him fly with the military guys which was a total blast!! Can’t wait till the next one.
In that DVR Run, Thomas was running an Xbee MCK Hybrid with FlightOne FC and ESC.
