  1. If HFW shouldn't be in the running for GOTY because it's more of that "ubisoft open world" than Elden Ring shouldn't be either since it's just another iteration of the Souls forumla they've been doing forever only with everything tossed inside an open world.

  2. I hope Justin gets to Marvel Super Heroes.
The Harry Potter ones were fantastic, but Marvel Super Heroes was next level.

  3. thats the beauty of From Software. they have so much obtuse stuff that, ill say it, is nearing bs. but regardless, no matter the idiocy of it, it pulls you in. it's the Miyazaki touch

  4. Fantastic episode as always! Nice to hear Olli Olli World get a nod during game of the year watch. It’s definitely not going to take the top spot, but after putting in 25 hours (and more to come when the DLC drops) I can safely say that it’s one of the top 15 or so games I’ve played in the past few years. Great music, tight gameplay, and an all-around gnarly experience!

  5. lol daemon finally gets a dozen hours into a Souls game and starts using words like “brave” and “daring”. Welcome aboard Daemy.

  6. On competing elden ring…if later bosses are causing trouble level mimic tear up, and get Shabriris Woe amulet, and decent vitality. Call mimic with the amulet equipped, then immediately swap it out for another amulet. The boss will then just go for your mimic and you can concentrate on causing damage. Especially good if you are a mage, as you can spam damage dealing spells from afar without having to worry.

Using that approach I beat the final boss on first attempt, after failing 20+ times previously.

  7. Not being friendly to the player is indeed a fair thing to say about Elden Ring Daemon. I was expecting you to say in the last to episodes “I love it now, bit it is still BS”.

  8. Max Payne remake announcement was trending all day on twitter so safe to say there is a clamoring for that game (myself included). Those games are awesome

  9. Damon you have got to start mentioning what games you’re getting the retro music from I can’t think of what game that is but I know the music.

  10. I think what bugs me most is that it always seems to be Mark who gets something objectively wrong and presents it as fact or offers his opinion on a game he hasn’t actually played lol. It’s like he’s just baiting the comment section on purpose rather than taking the podcast seriously 🤷🏻‍♂️

  11. I did everything in elden ring..Did every quest, mini bosses, catacombs, tunnels, caves and graves..Got all 42 trophies and it took me 260 hours

  12. For me Elden Ring is the current Game of the Year, with Sifu and Tunic tied for second. Horizon is just so bland to me.

  13. Always a joy looking forward to these on Fridays even when I work weekends. Still gives me that Friday feeling of hanging out with friends and helps a bit with that FOMO of the weekend warriors. I really enjoy every day of the week to be honest, sometimes the weekend is overrated. Ok going to deep here but just enjoy life & thanks Ninfriendos—I mean SCOOP!

  14. Justin, please just be a big boy and buy LEGO Skywalker Saga and play it alone. You will not regret it, I promise.

  15. I remember Superman Returns on Xbox 360 having a funny game engine problem. When I made superman land on the surface of water just outside the city of Metropolis to trigger a splashing animation around his feet it stayed on even when he walked into the city. Now that I think about it, looks more like a human error than a problem with the game engine, but I still appreciate how far the newer game engines have come none the less.

  16. Love a shakeup of the Scoop panel every one and awhile! Always cool hearing new insights. Medina continues to bring the humor to any podcast he touches. Great work!
