  1. I'll be honest, never really understood the appeal of VR. I recently got a friend a vr headset and kinda want to get one myself. This video helped a lot in understanding the reason for people to own VR headsets and play VR too. Is very nice to see and know. Who knows, might give it a shot. Thanks.

  2. Tried CardboardVR, unimpressed, gimmicky.
Tried 6dof PCVR (Beat saber). Yeah, it's nice and all to be able to see everything around you, but it doesn't "feel" real or even immersive at all. The stereocopic effect (3D) is sure present, but barely noticeable when busy playing. After 20 minutes or so I still don't feel like INSIDE a game, maybe at a theme park/arcade…
I'd say it's more fun than playing with mouse and keyboard, but don't expect anything mind-blowing.

It's kinda like the difference between a motorcycle (classic gaming) and a car (VR, 6dof), while nice people tell you you're hopping onto a plane.

Maybe we're just not there yet and it'd suddenly become a true next-gen medium once we have VR-Setups with 400Hz 8k/eye full body tracking, electric sensory stimulation suits available for the consumer market, it's just not good enough.

1280×1440 per eye just looks worse than a cheap monitor. Couldn't imagine how PS3 graphics (PSVR) could be of any use lol.

"VR is cheap, you can get a good Windows Mixed Reality Headset for less than 2 Benjamins."
That's true, IF you live in the US. Otherwise prices bloat uncontrollably.

Prepare to spend at least 1.200 euros for PC and headset.

And no, you don't have to spend 1k on the PC. A basic system is enough(Maybe 300-400), put the remaining few hundred bucks into the best GPU that budget allows.

  3. I think vr matters because I think it has changed social interactions forever now you don’t need to worry about looks people see as an avatar. This changes how we interact with people forever.

  4. I got the rift 1 3 days ago and have been playing about 18-30 mins play time depending on tittle , I'm still working on my vr legs , today I had a dream I was in a vr game and when I woke up I felt sick lol 😆
I can't quit tho my 12 year old loves vr and he don't get sick 🙁

  5. Unfortunately I struggle to buy anything over $50, a lot of the electronics I only got from money my family gave for birthdays, and holidays but my birthday is coming in a few months up so I'm really hoping to be able to manage to buy it. I just need to wait it out. Everything is so expensive, 3D Printers that everyone seems to have, vr headsets. Im trying to get into it and make the opportunity happen lol.

  6. I'm confused

So what is going on is that every now and then I wake up in a strange and unrealistic world

It's gritty and the physics are very strange, because when I try to go through something, I can't, and instead hurt myself. Also, I lose my power to transform into other forms, and I can't find my travel medallion anywhere

I believe I am dreaming, although it feels real. I really need someone's help to figure out what is going on

When I am in my world, strange things happen. Everyone around me say stuff that I don't understand, like VeeAre and OckYouLust, and when I ask them what they mean, try think I'm crazy. They also have the ability to transform like me, which is odd since I was the only one who was able to do that. Also, if I touch a mirror, it tries to swallow me, pulling me into this strange limbo state. All of this only started happening recently, about a year ago, I think.

  7. My bf bought a pc because I’ve been talking so much about this. (I cried a lil lol)

Last night, walking through furhub (despite using the TV screen) it felt surreal- the ADS!! One looked soo so real.

I’m having a blast just exploring VRChat.
I’m so excited to see them intergrade AR and maybe even holograms to make VR even more effective. I really think it’s the future- combing them all- at least until Neuralink finishes the dead legacy professor from CLUs project- 😬

  8. I've been in to VR for almost 4 years, and VR is important to me because it provides a way to get out, as I'm nearly 60 and was a bit too reckless when I was in my 20's and 30's and I'm somewhat physically broken now, so it gives me a way to continue to be adventurous, without hurting myself. The only think I find frustating is the latest head sets have a max IPD of 68 to 70mm, and I'm 74mm, so visually not so comfortable.

  9. This is such a golden video. I've shared this with 3 people that I have no idea what VR is and they love your introductions. Your wisdom is unparalleled

  10. Your videos are so good, I think you sold me with this piece. My only problem is I like to go full on enthusiast level straight off the bat. I'm even thinking of scrapping my living room in favour of – the virtual reality zone! with like hazard tape 😉

  11. In 2017 I got my psvr and then in 2019 I got my quest but now I’m thinking about getting a HTC vive or a valve index so here’s the big question: which one do I get because I want to get one of the high end headsets but I don’t what is better or any of the pros and cons

  12. In VR you can make friends and have a lot of fun! You can also enjoy lots of games and do your favorite hobby's even if you are in quarentaine. I will get a Quest 2 for christmas and i'm super exited!

  13. I showed my mom VR and she just started pointing out all the little details like a flower pot or a couch and how she wanted them in real life. It was honestly amazing.
