  1. geeks and nerds..i repeat your ESPORTS IS NOT A SPORT AND WILL NEVER BE..I UNDERSTAND WHY YOU GUYS NEEDS RECONGITION AS YOU MIDGET CANT GET THE LADIES WHEN YOUNG THOUGH SPORTS HENCE YOU GOT TO INCLUDE GAMING AS A SPORT AS TO GET LADIES….GROW UP, MIDGETS…..

  2. People mistake "Sport" for "Athleticism"
    A sport Requires:
    International Governing Body(exmaple: FIFA)
Physical Extertion – This means any physical, not extreme, so Piano and Chess still count
Skill – Needs someway for skill to be involved, so gambling is not a sport
Competition/scoring system – needs someway to achieve victory(scoring goals in football)

  3. All these people who have probably exerted themselves to absolutely pain trying to say gaming can compare to what athletes go through lmao, never once from my gaming binges, as opposed to my exercises, have I woken up and slowly got out of bed stiff, in pain and barely able to function/ move properly. Never have I needed to take Advil every morning after gaming 1 full week, as opposed to having worked in a moving company a full week.

Get real people, we know you love games so do I but you can't get so defensive because of it to the point of being illogical. You all need to go outside and exert the hell out of yourselves to get humbled, it's not about if you enjoy exercise or not it's about appreciating the difficulty of it.

  4. honestly people spending over 2000 hours on a videogame have committed to their dream of being the best at that videogame. Just like someone playing basketball everyday, they have committed to being a good basketball player.

  5. they are not sports real sports require phycial activity not sitting on your ass with a controller they ar ecompetitions and shouldn't waste tv time on them

  6. Just call it a mental sport FFS and for those of you saying that sports require physical fitness so does esports and chess and poker because in order to have a healthy mind you need a healthy body

  7. 8+ Million people tuned into Fortnite Friday Tournament(Twitch/TY combined).. with those numbers ESPN will agree esports is a sport…

  8. (3 years late) I believe it's a real sport (my opinion). There's even physical fitness involved when it comes to training. Even if you don't believe me, ESPN considers spelling bees as "Sports at its best". So as long as ESPN considers spelling bees as real sports then I would consider eSports as real sports.

  9. ESports is not a sport it's a competition like chess & poker
When I was in middle school I semi competed in track & the strict diets, training,& being obsessed with track 24/7 just to be motivated to train hours on end to either win or lose is both physically & mentally hard for most people to stick with

What I did was an example of a sport

  10. redefine sports into 2 category – the physical and the intellectual sports. Although we can say basketball uses strategy/mental aspects but it primarily focus mainly in physical attributes, someday chess will be moved to intellectual sports in comparison to pro gamers

  11. This is not a sport, e-sports can generate a lot of money MONEY ! that's why us grands visas to these guys just a corporation who saw an opportunity to make some easy money and label it as a "sport" what a marketing scam….

  12. eSports are not sports, sports are defined as “an athletic activity requiring physical skill or prowess”, Nothing physical happenes in eSports, if you consider eSports then you must be an avid video game player sticking up for the “gamers” in the world. eSports are a fallback for the people who are too lazy to motivate themselves to get off the couch.

  13. Lmao it's as simple as this people who don't play games think it's not a sport and people who do think it is a sport but in the end it really doesn't matter because esports tournaments are more watched than any other big sporting event

  14. What is the difference between this sport and football? What tells us that the motion of throwing a football is any better than landing a combo in LOL? Just because it has been around for longer, why is tackling someone more valued than solokilling someone?

  15. If there was a prize that big on the line…I don't think it matters how much physical exertion there is you're sweating up a storm. Especially with how young most of these guys are
