  1. Ford is only the first to cave to the NACS. Technically Aptera was the first non-Tesla to adopt NACS, but they are still in pre-production. Soon everyone will be using it exclusively.

  2. No no no fuk no lol 😂 I enjoy pulling up to a super charger and plug up right away there’s one in my area that is just before getting to city so that one is always packed with a line so adding in other EV’s gonna make it worst everywhere else lol 😂 making my life inconvenient how dare they lol 😂

  3. 2 reasons I have a Tesla X. Autodrive and the charging infrastructure. Yeah the wait is gonna suck on trips but maybe they’ll charge more to outside vendors.

  4. The reason they can‘t (or couldn’t) really use NACS in Europe is our three phase AC grid. The NACS connector can‘t support three phases as it only has 5 pins. Type 2 (EUs AC standard) has 7 pins to support all three phases! With NACS they could not enable more than 7.2kW AC charging while Type 2 supports up to (theoretically) 43kW (realistically 22kW or 11kW in most homes)!

  5. Standardization is not "surrender." Every automaker in the world implemented Ford's assembly line. That did not mean they "surrendered" to them.

  6. CCS was never included for free on Tesla. I think they meant J1772 (level 2 AC adapter). CCS started getting enabled on 2022 models and up and the CCS adapter for Tesla just became available in the past several months. Retrofits to get enabled for earlier Model 3s/Ys should hit later this year but at this point now that GM is onboard I hope the dominoes start to fall with the other manufacturers jumping on board with NACS. NACS is far superior to CCS in so many ways. CCS was forced in Europe at a time when Tesla was not as large. Tesla tried to offer their adapter for free before but they were still a start up back them and they didn't truly make it a standard. At that time the other manufacturers didn't take Tesla seriously since they weren't producing volume of any significance. The tables are turned now in that they have the best infrastructure and have proven they are able to produce volume.

  7. Sort of like tile conceding to Apple, so that all tile buyers can use apples find my net work. That is the name of the game when playing monopoly. Develop systems so good and widespread that everybody else is better to join you rather than to compete against you.

  8. The state in live in literally only has 7 super charging stations for the whole city. There needs to be way more charging stations if they are opening the network to everyone.

  9. I take umbrage with the title of the video, Ford made an incredibly good decision here, and now we know that GM as well is going down the same route. The genius here is Tesla sharing and leasing their charging technology to the other manufacturer's. I just bought a new Chevy Colorado and avoided going electric because of the amount of travel that we do between states, but at this pace I'm pretty sure my next vehicle will in fact be electric. Like so many others I've been hesitant because outside of Tesla there has been no real effort to create a function national network, and I'm certainly not going to wait for the government to get it done, let the auto makers invest in the technology and distribution…

  10. Fun fact, there is only 1, yes 1, supercharger on Oahu. Thats for a population of 1M people lol. Probably has the longest wait time of any charger in the US.

  11. Well now that GM joined, it’s going NACS. All other networks need to do is install NACS and then include a CCS Magic dock. Then they can get fed funding. And most will find that NACS is used by far. But at least both sides are covered.

  12. You cats keep saying, CCS.. in the USA and Europe.. like they’re the same.. lol.. it’s VERY f’n different.. CCS type 1 is the US one.. and it’s dog shit. CCS type 2 is what is used in Europe, and it’s much closer to Tesla’s plug style.. still, the NACS is a nicer design.. but Europe has some specific shit with 3 phase that their Type 2 does.. so fine, Europe has CCS type 2.. US has NACS.. no issue. And that’s the right answer for both. CCS type 1 blows

  13. As a Tesla owner for many years, how pissed would you be to show up and have a long wait with tons of Ford and GM vehicles taking up the chargers??
